Chapter 2: Demons

Meanwhile, on the demon's side.

"ALL HAIL THE DEMONIC FAMILY!!"

The crowd is howling to the top of their lungs.

Klay Demonic, the demon who obtained the five classes of demons. He has white hair and smooth skin. He's a genius on par with Klay Panthor.

Demon Knight, Demonic Mage, Demonic Tank, Demon Ranger, and Demon Tamer.

With him is the future queen of vampires, Chloe Vampir. Which has three classes of demons: Demonic Knight, Demonic Ranger, and Demon Tamer. She's a vampire who has smooth, golden hair.

"Brother, I'll make our father proud," the boy Klay said with determination.

"I'm sure you will," his brother, Dominic Demonic, replied.

The other side is also celebrating the birth of their new warrior.

.

Back to Klay Phantor, the human side.

"And that concludes our class gifting ceremony; congratulations to all of you," my father, Philip Panthor, said.

The crowd gathered around in applause, celebrating our graduation.

Children's studies begin at the age of 5 and graduate at the age of 15 or 16. Knowing our classes can help us determine our job in the future.

We also get to choose which path we will take.

Workers - those who specialize in working for the city or villages.

Politicians - those who specialize in and handle the economy.

Adventurers - the ones who fight monsters head-on.

Each one has different kinds of classes, and you are free to pick what path you want. A lot of our classmates chose workers and avoided adventurers because it's risky. For me, I actually want to fight monsters.

"Before we head to the next phase, let's have a celebration first. I'm sure all of you are hungry," my father said through the microphone.

.

.

.

They placed three sets of tables on them and filled them all with food. Karma and I sat and ate the delicious meal in front of us.

"Karma, slow down! No one will take your food!" I said while chewing the meat and grabbing some food.

"I could say the same to you, Klay! How dare you take the meat that's on my plate, you glutton!" He says while grabbing another three pairs of chicken wings.

"Hey! Just because you have three classes doesn't mean you get to boss me around!" I yelled.

"Says the guy who has all the classes available; if there's a sixth one, I'm sure you'll have it too!"

As we argued at the table, a hand appeared on top of our heads. It's my father.

"Okay, that's enough arguing, you two." My father smiled at us.

We laughed at the moment we have right now; we laughed because Karma and I know the responsibilities and things we have to do because of this power.

Right now, we're enjoying our meal, but tomorrow will be different.

"I'm proud of you two," says my father.

I smirked at him and replied, "You should be my best friend, and I will be the next face of this country."

"Hohh, talking big now; how come you get to talk like that with your father but so humble with our friends?" Karma teasingly said.

"Shut it," I replied meekly.

"I'll be heading now." My father let us both go and waved us goodbye as he went back to the podium.

"Everyone, please kindly give me your attention," my father said through the microphone.

"While you are eating, we'll announce the five members per party. The party you are in will be your group that will take the second test. The second test will be to slay a monster that is assigned to your group."

"Cooperation and teamwork will be needed to finish the task; this test will determine if you deserve to be an adventurer or not. We'll be giving you a teleportation crystal in case something goes wrong or if you can't finish the task; of course, if this happens, you'll automatically fail."

"We will now announce the groupings."

While we listened to my father calling names again one by one, I started a conversation with Karma.

"Hey Karma, I wonder if we're in the same group," I said.

"Yep, something might go wrong if I'm not with you," he replied.

We're still eating until my father calls my name.

Klay Phantor, Ella Hirtzgart, Jyour Rudmor, Pourtz Kritz, and Bruolds Pkilter.

I looked at Karma; it's a shame that we're not in the same group.

I raised my fist to him. "I'll make it back without a problem."

He smiled and bumbed his fist into mine. "Of course you will."

I went to the center and met the people in my group.

"Hello, I'm Ella Hirtzgart. My class is a Tamer. Nice to meet you."

Ella Hirtzgart has short blue hair and is wearing a white mage coat.

"Good day, fellas, Jyour Rudmor. My class is Tank, so let me do the tanking for you all."

Jyour Rudmor, he's a big, strong man. I can't believe he's the same age as me. His hair is also a cool red one.

"Pourtz Kritz, a mage."

Pourtz Kritz; she's one of my classmates. She has dark circles in her eyes and gives mean stares to everyone. She's also unfriendly.

"Bruolds Pkilter, I'm a ranger and a fighter. Nice to meet you all." He greeted us with a smile.

Bruolds Pkilter also has a huge body and golden hair. Just like Karma, his energy is also the same. He's Karma 2.0.

"Hi everyone, I'm Klay Phantor. I'm an all-rounder, I guess?" I introduced myself clearly and concisely.

Bruolds patted my shoulder. "Woah, you really are amazing, dude! Five classes all at once?!"

I laughed lightly and held the back of my head. I don't really know how I'll reply to that.

"This is a sure win for us! Right everyone?!" Ella said to the group.

"RIGHT!!" With a strong voice, the group is filled with motivation and confidence.

I looked at Karma's group, and it seems like it's going to be fine for him. As usual, he's leading the group with confidence, and I hope I have that too.

We went to places where we could find weapons, and my members picked whatever was suited to their classes. Meanwhile, I'm still having trouble deciding what to get.

Karma went up to me and gave me a book. "Technically, it's for tamers, but this book specializes in both animals and weapons. You can put them inside, and I already put all kinds of weapons here for you," he said to me.

I looked at the book, and it's black and gorgeous at the same time. I opened it up, and I summoned one of the weapons.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Karma said.

"Thanks, Karma!" I said with gratitude.

He gave me a smile and headed back to his group.

"Attention everyone!" My father said to the microphone.

A blue and blackish portal appeared on his left side.

"This portal leads to your designated tasks. We'll give you a paper that indicates your number and what you need to do. All you have to do is step in front of the portal and say the number in your paper. Once I call your group number, please come forward."

My father called the numbers of the group one by one. Our group is number 14, and we waited for the other group until my father called us.

"You're going to say the numbers 1 and 4, and that way you'll get to your designated area," my father said.

Ella asked me, "What number again?"

And I said,

"1, 4"

"1, 4" Bruolds also said at the same time.

We looked at each other for a moment, wondering if we had done something wrong.

"Hey guys, I got the teleportation crystals. Here," Jyour said behind us.

"Oh, thanks," Bruolds expressed his gratitude.

My dad patted me on the back and said, "You got this, son!"

Nevermind; I'm sure it's nothing.

"Yes, Dad! I got this!" I smiled at him.

We went inside the portal.

.

.

.

"Woah," Jyour said with a hint of surprise.

Around us is a path that leads to darkness, and the tourches on our side suddenly flamed up.

Behind us, the portal suddenly disappeared.

"Hey, Bruolds. What's the task?" I nervously asked him because I knew something was wrong.

"Eliminate the small wolves hidden in the forest." Bruolds said it calmly, but if you look at his face, you can clearly see.

We're screwed.

"Everyone! Get your teleportation crystal now!" Bruolds turned to us and yelled.

"Teleport!" We raised the crystal, and nothing happened.

We were silent for a moment and wondered what to do. Until Ella noticed when she looked at the ground.

"Guys, look at the floor," Ella said.

114

"114?! Is... is this true?!" Jyour screamed.

I suddenly remembered the moment Bruolds and I said the numbers at the same time. It's a mistake; we're in a life-or-death situation. No, more like a death situation. We're prey waiting to be killed by its predator.

Fear rushed into my spine. I could feel the shaking of my legs and my skin tingling just from the air. My teeth can also be heard rattling through. And I'm not the only one.

"Le—let's wait for backup," Pourtz suggested while resisting her fear.

"It's useless; you can't leave the floors hundred and above. No one will rescue us from here. They won't even know where we are," I fearfully said.

Bruolds suddenly grabbed my shirt and pulled it.

"It's all your fault! Why would you even say anything when I'm the one leading the group?!" Bruolds shouted.

"I'm sorry." I looked down, knowing and admitting that it's my fault.

He threw me to the ground. I braced for the impact, but I still landed harshly.

"Your sorry won't do a thing. Do me a favor and stay over here." He ordered and walked off straight to the path.

"Where are you going?" Jyour asked Bruolds.

He stopped at his feet and turned his head around.

"If we're going to die here, then I'm going to die fighting," he proclaimed.

"That's reckless, Bruolds." I interfered.

"You have anything better, Panthor? Just because you're the son of Philip Panthor doesn't mean you can boss me around!" Bruolds replied.

"I'm saying if we're going to fight, let's at least fight as a team. I'm not afraid of dying despite my looks. I want all of us to survive," I said with clear determination.

As we both exchange words, Ella steps in the middle of us.

"I'm sorry everyone; I actually asked Klay what number we're in, and he just replied, I'm the actual one who's at fault here," Ella said with tears coming out of her eyes.

Bruolds, who witnessed these tears, immediately gave Ella a hug, whispering to her, "It's not your fault; everyone makes mistakes sometimes."

Meanwhile, I look at them, thinking, 'Great, the woman apologized, and he forgives her. When I apologized, I got thrown around. What a simp!'

"Do you have a plan, Panthor?" Rudmor asked me.

"Well, if it's all okay with you, I would like to see your items," I replied.

We have 24 potions, 2 swords, 2 bows, 30 arrows, a blue bird, 2 magic staffs, 2 shields, and my book.

The five of us gathered around, and I told them the plan.
