Daphne approached him and greeted him politely. "Good morning, Heir Peverell."
Agustus nodded and returned the courtesy. "Good morning, Heir Greengrass."
He observed Daphne closely and wondered why she was so cold and distant, with her occlumency shields on full force. She reminded him of Snape, only much prettier. Snape as a cute girl? He shuddered at the thought and quickly used the Power of Destruction to erase that image from his mind.
Daphne noticed that Agustus was staring intently at her face and felt a surge of heat in her cheeks. 'Why is he doing that?' she thought, trying not to blush. She hurriedly said, "Thank you for writing a letter to Astoria."
Agustus snapped out of his thoughts and replied, "No worries, Heir Greengrass. It was my pleasure, she's a friend after all."
Daphne then asked him curiously, "What did you write in that letter to make her so happy? My mom said she didn't even let her read it."
Agustus just smiled mysteriously and said, "Well, that's a secret between me and Astoria. You'll have to ask her yourself."
Daphne didn't like that answer. Astoria was her sister and she had the right to know what made her so happy. But she couldn't do anything about it here, so she settled for glaring at the hateful boy who had bullied her Astoria in the past.
'Huh, I haven't forgotten that. If he ever makes her cry again, I'll make him pay,' she thought fiercely. She didn't know that but she was pouting, she looked really cute but Agustus won't tell her that.
Agustus then continued, "You better hurry, because your class starts in 15 minutes, and I believe you don't want to be late for your first class of the day."
Daphne thanked Agustus again and left the Great Hall, heading towards her first class.
After she left, Agustus waited in the hall for the next arrivals. Soon, the twins joined him, who enjoyed having breakfast at the Slytherin table.
Cedric arrived next, followed by Dora. Agustus noticed that something was troubling her, but he decided to talk to her later in the Room of Requirement.
The twins had Potions as their first class today, and they were really looking forward to it, as it was their favourite subject. And their favourite teacher was Snape, of course, He wasn't.
Cedric, Dora, and Agustus laughed at their faces, as they had Defence Against the Dark Arts as their first class.
Professor Quirrell, who had taught Muggle Studies last year, had been given the chance to teach DADA this year. Agustus knew that he had brought a guest to Hogwarts, and he was quite excited for the class.
The twins left for Snape's dungeon reluctantly, while Agustus, Cedric, and Dora headed to the DADA classroom.
As the trio arrived at the classroom, they saw a few students sitting at the back seats, as the last two DADA professors had been disappointing and they didn't expect much from Quirrell.
They sat down in one of the middle seats, as the other students filled in.
After a few minutes, Quirrell entered the class wearing a turban and purple robe. His face looked swollen compared to last year.
It looked as if he had aged ten years in just a few months away from Hogwarts.
Quirrell gazed at the students nervously and went to the podium. He cleared his throat and said, "Good morning, students. Today is your first class of DADA of third year. I am going to teach you about werewolves, grindylows, hinkypunks, vampires, nocturnal beasts, pixies (revision), imps (revision), charmed skeletons, and the Freezing Spell. Some of them you have already learnt, but we will have revisions for them as they are important topics for the OWLs."
He stuttered a lot while saying that. A student from Hufflepuff raised her hand. Quirrell saw that and asked her to speak.
She stood up and said, "Sir, are you unwell? Last year, you didn't stutter teaching Muggle Studies. What happened to you during the summer?"
'Straightforward as they come, Hufflepuffs sure know how to ask about the well-being of professors,' thought Agustus, generalizing the entire Hufflepuff house. If Dora heard him, she would bite his ear off.
Quirrell looked paler due to the question and replied, still stuttering, "Oh, I am fine, Miss Karen. I had gone on an adventure in Romania and encountered some vampires. They are nocturnal creatures, and they attacked me. Some of them injured me, but the Romanian Aurors came in time and saved me. I got healed, but what you are seeing is the result of that incident."
Miss Karen nodded at his answer and sat down on her seat. The other students had sympathetic expressions on their faces.
Meanwhile, Dora was questioning the credibility of a professor who got done in by a few vampires in her mind.
Agustus, on the other hand, had tears in his eyes. He was controlling his laughter. All he wanted right now was Voldemort's point of view of Quirell's bullshit.
Agustus was sure Voldemort was regretting giving such an important task as stealing the Philosopher's Stone to Quirrell.
The acting of Quirrell was on point, though, if you counted out the fake stutter. Even the golden boy of Hufflepuff, Cedric, had a sympathetic expression and looked at the professor with pity.
Agustus thought to himself, 'Should I do multiversal travel and throw this dude in the sparkling vampire world?'
Cedric felt a sudden sense of danger and looked around frantically, forgetting about Quirrell.
Agustus ignored him and kept watching Quirrell's nonsense.
As the lecture was almost over, after wasting an hour with his sob story, Agustus had enough. He used magic to set Quirrell's turban on fire.
Quirrell, who was too immersed in his acting, noticed the flames and panicked.
The students were shocked and frightened by the sudden fire.
Quirrell ran out of the class screaming "Wahhh!"
Dora, who already disliked Quirrell, laughed along with Agustus, who was having a blast.
The class was soon dismissed by Professor McGonagall, and Agustus left with Dora and Cedric.
During lunch, the fire incident was the hottest topic among the students.
In one of the teachers' rooms at Hogwarts, Professor Quirrell was looking at his back in the mirror, talking to a face behind his head.
The head was none other than Voldemort, and he was furious. He glared at his worthless servant and said, "It was that boy who was sitting in the middle. He used wandless magic. He seems suspicious of you. You couldn't even fool a thirteen-year-old and almost blew your cover."
Voldemort wanted nothing more than to use the Cruciatus Curse on Quirrell.
Quirrell answered his master quickly, without stuttering, "I apologize, Master, but don't worry. That boy has pranked many students before. He wasn't suspicious of anything. If he was, he would have already told Dumbledore about us."
Voldemort thought for a moment and said, "You are staying away from that boy. Don't teach the third years. Make up some excuse to give to Dumbledore."
Quirrell agreed with him and said, "Yes, Master."
Quirrell then proceeded to tie up the turban again, as he wanted to visit the Hogwarts infirmary to treat his burnt hands.
