Letter

[Daphne Greengrass POV - after they left Agustus]

"Your face is red, Daph. What was written in that letter?" Tracey asked, glaring at me.

I didn't answer. How could I? This was so embarrassing.

"Oh, are you not going to tell your best friend? You've changed now that you've got a boyfriend, so you don't care about me," Tracey said in a sad tone.

She was having the time of her life teasing me. I would get my revenge.

What was Mom thinking writing a letter like this? I won't stand for this. She knows how much Tori likes him, so why is she doing this? Does she genuinely find... No, no, no, that's not possible.

I was lost in thought when Tracey said, "You would have to update your game, Daph. As your best friend, I'm worried, you know? Looks like Granger is also after him."

I smirked and said, "Indeed. I saw how she glared at me as he petted me. She thought only she has that privilege. It was nice to see her jealous."

Tracey looked deeply at me and said, "You know, Daph, we met when we were five. I've never seen you display so much emotion. You always break whenever he is around, or when you're talking about him. You showed emotion when I used to really annoy you and tease you. I'm serious, Daph, I don't want you to lose."

I couldn't help but smile at my friend. I'm lucky to have her. Even after I had a cold exterior towards everything, she always understood me and cared for me.

I hugged her and said, "You're my best friend, Tracey. I love you."

She laughed and said, "I love you too, Daph."

As we separated, she mischievously smiled and ran with a letter in hand.

Wait, a letter? NO! I ran after her to stop her from reading that.

[Harry Potter POV]

I was in the infirmary?

It was so good; maybe Sirius could teach me to do that.

Peverell's magic was amazing. He is also a good person, protecting the stone and fighting Voldemort.

Honestly, I thought I was going to die. Quirrell had the stone, and Voldemort would be able to heal from the stone, but Peverell saved me.

"What about Ron, though?" I forgot about him. Suddenly, a blue spark happened, and Hermione appeared in front of me with a blue bird on her shoulder.

She hurried near the bed I was sitting on and said, "Are you okay? Did he get the stone? Are you injured anywhere? Should I call Miss Pomfrey?"

Rapid-firing questions, classic Hermione. This reminds me of the train ride to Hogwarts. I was mean to her, but now I understand her a little, I guess. She's a nice girl.

"I'm fine, Hermione. No, he did not get the Stone. Peverell protected it from Voldemort. I was wrong. Snape was not the one forcing Quirrell; it was Voldemort."

Hermione couldn't believe harmless Professor Quirrell was housing a Dark Lord. It could be seen on her face.

"Right, I know. I too couldn't believe it. I thought Snape was the culprit but saw Voldemort."

Hermione shivered. Sigh, who wouldn't know more about him than me? I should've started studying as soon as I got to Hogwarts, but alas.

"Where's Ron?"

She visibly relaxed and said, "He's on his bed. Neville checked and said he was sleeping due to exhaustion. Agustus healed him."

I have to thank him as soon as I see him for helping us. "You asked him for help?"

She nodded, patting the blue bird, which I guess is the famous Ice Phoenix of Peverell. The bird chirped and disappeared in a blue flash. Amazing.

"I was running for Professor McGonagall's office when I saw him, so I asked him for help. Later, I found her in her office; she's with Dumbledore right now."

I nodded at her. "What was his name? The phoenix's," I couldn't help but ask.

She looked confused and said, "She's Skadi. Don't confuse her next time, or else she will make sure you don't sleep as she will freeze your bed."

I shivered and hurriedly nodded, as I don't want that to happen. Ever.

Hermione then went on about how rare and great Ice Phoenixes are, their history, nature, and all. Honestly, I regretted asking about Skadi.

After what seemed like a few hours, which were basically 10 minutes, Professor McGonagall and Headmaster Dumbledore, who looked tired, entered.

[Narcissa Ashwood POV]

Well, I wouldn't say I didn't expect this letter, but seriously, what is she thinking?

Leana and I were competing for family glory since childhood. We were both of the same age, Slytherin, and had pureblood upbringing. I married Lucius due to a marriage contract; she too had to marry a Death Eater. Fortunately, her husband died.

We never hated each other, but that didn't mean we were friends.

Now she's asking Agustus, my husband, out on a date. I remember him telling me about meeting Leana in a Wizengamot meeting and healing her second girl, but this is outrageous.

I was bonded to him through magic; I didn't ask him out. How thirsty is she?

But I'll let him decide what he wants to do about this, and honestly, I am fine with whatever he decides. He sent me this letter to let me know about this situation.

Does Dora know about this? She must know. Let him get back here; I will suffocate him in my bosom.

He does like older girls, but he isn't lustful. If he thought for one moment that she's not right for the family, he won't go for her.

I've known him for about a year, and when it comes to family, he always says, "A great man once said everyone is looking for the thrill, but what's real is family, so hold onto it."

And I was stunned. I swore to become the best wife for him and support him in everything.

"I looked forward to meeting Leana". I've beaten her this time. What will her daughter call him after Leana marries him? Well, that will be interesting.

I couldn't help but smile. The things he has done to the wizarding world are remarkable. He has changed so many people's lives.
