Trouble in America

[Agustus POV]

"What's that?" asked a curious girl with a cute tilt of her head, her hand pointing towards the papers I had just handed to Miss Cole.

Grandma smiled at her and looked at me. I nodded at her.

"This, Emily, is your adoption papers. You are getting a new family," said Grandma with a smile.

"But..By whom? I... I..." she stammered.

I looked at the 9-year-old girl. She had lost her smile and looked towards me. Just like Grandma, I nodded at her. She looked around to see someone she didn't recognize, but couldn't find anyone there and started crying.

I couldn't help but embrace her. I really cared for her, and it ached my heart to see her cry.

"Why are you crying, Em? I thought you would be happy," I asked her.

"No, I don't want to go. I want to be with you and Grandma," she said, while hugging me tightly.

"And here I thought you would be happy to know I adopted you as my little sister," I said and sighed. "If I had known you would be sad, I wouldn't have done it."

After a few seconds, she broke the hug and looked at me. This time she wasn't crying but had tears in her eyes.

I saw her tremble, and I embraced her again.

"R... Really? I am going to live with you, big brother?" It hurt so much to see her like this, so vulnerable. Emily always put on a strong front, helping everyone and smiling all the time, but the truth is that she's just a little girl who deserves all the happiness in the world. I should've done this a lot sooner.

"Yes, Em, we are going home." Hearing this, she cried in my embrace.

I looked at Grandma, who had a blinding smile and tears in her eyes.

[Luna Lovegood POV]

I am so happy. I was spending my summer at Agustus's home, playing with Norberta (a Norwegian Ridgeback), Cleopatra (a basilisk), and lots of thestrals and unicorns.

I made friends with all of them. He had been busy with his family affairs, which made me a little sad, but I had made new friends this summer.

Emily, his sister, was like a little Hippogriff. She always stuck by his side, eyeing us warily. She talked about how we were going to take her big brother away.

It took her a few days to open up to us, but eventually, she started calling us big sisters. I had hugged her many times that day.

Alice, my other friend, was a jumpy girl. Big sister Dora and she fought daily, giving smirks and taunting each other, which made the home more lively.

I was glad to be here but also confused. I didn't know why Mother dropped me here. She told me she had to handle something important and I might not see my dad for a while. It was okay; maybe she wanted to spend some time with him.

I had been writing letters to Tori too. She was jealous and wanted to come here, but her mother didn't allow her as she had to learn about her family business and other noble etiquette classes, which she had ignored before going to Hogwarts. She visited us few times.

I didn't get any of that. Why do we have to pretend to do anything which we don't do normally or don't want to? I mean, isn't everyone rich and powerful? Then why do something to please others?

Maybe I'm not mature enough to realize its importance. I should probably read more books about this subject, maybe I could ask Hermione about this?

I didn't stop my classes with big sister Dora. Alice, Nagini, and Bella joined us in our training. Big sister Bella was too strong and always bullied us by hexing us.

It was only big sister Nagini who, once she got angry, started running around the manor throwing curses at big sister Bella, which was amazing. Her chest would jump up and down whenever she ran, I've never seen something like that before, even Agustus was in awe.

[Cedric Diggory POV]

Everything seems to be going well this summer. I asked out Cho Chang, and to my surprise, she said yes.

It was an exaggeration to say I asked her out. It was my friends who had forced me to do it, as I was too shy.

We wrote letters. It took time, but when the letters arrived, it was worth it. The time also enhanced the value of the messages, but the Owls didn't share my thoughts. They looked at me with disgust—the same look Agustus gave to purebloods in Slytherin when we were in our first year.

Speaking of him, the boy had always been a mystery to me. I had fought him in our initial days of friendship because he had been too violent with a Slytherin seventh-year. I don't remember his name, as soon after, the boy dropped out.

Agustus told me he would not let anyone harm his family and walk away without any 'justice.' I didn't agree with his way of doing things.

As our friendship deepened, I realized he didn't really care much about anything in particular. He was always with Dora, exceptional in magic, playing pranks on students, and when someone tried to prank him, he took it with a smile.

But then I heard about the Greengrass party. That shook me to my core. Dad had heard some things at the Ministry and told me to stay away from him, which was foolish, as I won't betray and judge my friend's actions based on rumors.

I asked him about it, and it was true. I was angry at him. I wanted to beat him down and put some sense into the boy I called one of my best friends. But again, like in first year, he said, "I would do the same for you. Your family too." Seeing him getting serious, this statement halted me. I did tell him it was wrong and shouted at him. He just stood there with an annoying smile, letting me vent my anger. After that, we were like brothers again.

After attending Luna's birthday party, I arrived at my uncle's house in Beacon Hills, Northern California, maybe the distance between two continents made owl's angry.

The weather is warm and cozy as I walk outside. The house is located near a forest. I want to explore, but I am not a Gryffindor like the twins to do so. My uncle has warned me about some creatures in the forest, and I have obeyed his safety instructions, as he calls them.

As I walk down the road, admiring the view of the orange sun and warm evening, I hear a girl's voice calling for help from the woods. The voice sounded like a teen girl's, but in the middle of the woods? I can't abandon a girl in this situation.

I use my wand to accelerate my movements. Agustus had already removed the Trace, so I can do magic outside freely. He also taught us some incredible spells which belonged to his family, this was something never seen before, family spells are not taught to outsiders.

I reach an old wooden house. It has visible burns and looks like the Shrieking Shack, just bigger. It is definitely haunted.

I look around to see if anyone is there, checking our the house from the window I could find anything as it was too dark inside. I also looked around the house but found nothing.

As I am about to turn around and leave, I feel a hit on the back of my head. Which kind of surprised me as I was supposed to be immune to any attacks..Damn, I left that bracelet in my bag, he is going to be pissed.
