Forever Together

With everyone gone from the temple, the atmosphere had become so quiet that the place now seemed lifeless. The only sound that remained was the howling of the wind from the forest as all creatures seemed to have gone quiet. It was almost like they were no longer in this area. The birds had stopped singing, as if afraid that the sound they made would anger something. The temple, once a place with a pleasant atmosphere, embraced by the forest and lulled by the songs of the wilderness, had become eerily lonesome.

The wild creatures in the area were not gone, but they were frightened by something, something that was more powerful than them, something they could not intrude. They bowed their heads and crouched their bodies in submission. The birds all returned to their nests, not daring to make a sound. Their eyes were trained on the two statues that stood in front of the temple.
