Chapter Eighteen

The office door is slammed open. I looked up at the door and dad turned around to see who it was. An alpha male stood there. He was one of my enforcers. He was leaning forward with his hands on his knees, breathing heavily.

"What is it?" I asked him, not happy to be interrupted.

"Al-alpha. There's a problem." He slowly stood up, taking deep breaths.

"Problem?"

"The company's stocks dropped."

I stood up, slamming my hands on the desk. "What do you mean, the stocks dropped?"

"Som-someone bought up the stocks."

"What?!" I yelled.

Just then my phone rang. I pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID. It read Lil bit. Why would he be calling me and not mindlinking me?

I quickly answered it. "Lil bit? You ok?"

"Yea. Put me on speaker." He basically sighed. I can hear typing in the background so I'm guessing he's in his office.

"Ok." I put the phone on the desk and put it on speaker. "You're on."

"Ok. I'm pretty sure I'm also talking to Mason. Am I correct?" The typing got louder and faster.

I looked up at my dad. "Yes. Lil bit. Did you need to talk to us about something? You could have mindlinked me."

Killian sighed deeply. "Not with this. I needed to also talk to your dad and not just you." He paused. "Please don't call me LIl bit right now. I'm working."

I raised a brow. "Working?"

"Yes. I got a notification that GoldFang's stocks fell. I'm tracing them as we talk."

I looked at my dad. He's just as confused as I am. "Wait. You got a notification about it? We were just told."

Killian laughed. "Yes, Raiven. Did you really think I only know how to program games?"

"Umm." I felt ashamed. After finding out Killian's second identity I should have known he could do more than I thought. "Sorry."

I heard a gasp from the door. I looked up at the alpha who looked surprised. "You can go now. Thanks for telling us." I dismissed him. I looked at my dad. He looked proud.

"Anyways. Once we bonded I set it up so I got notifications when something happened to your company. I got one like half an hour ago when they started buying them all up. I immediately started to track them and make it so they couldn't buy anymore."

I tilted my head. "How did you do it?"

"As I'm tracking them I'm also buying the remaining bit." I can now hear two different rhythms in his typing.

I took a deep breath in since I knew everything would work out. "Thanks Killian. You're really helping us."

Killian laughed. "This is what I do, Raiven. I would do anything for you and your family."

I smiled. "Me too."

The typing slowed down. "I found out who did it."

"Who?" My dad and I both said.

Killian took a deep breath. "It was…."

Killian paused. It was like he didn't really want to tell me. "Killian?"

"Sorry. I had to look into something else." He took a breath. Almost like he was preparing for something. "It was Hellvener."

"Hellvener?" I tilted my head. It sounded familiar but I couldn't place it.

I heard him let out a breath. "It's the company your best friend's family owns."

Oh. That explains why it's familiar. It's been so long since I heard about that company. It used to be a rising star in business but it fell out of the news for a while.

So they are making their move. They didn't even wait to see what I would do. It was like they wanted revenge for something that didn't really happen.

"Do you think it's about what I think it is?"

"Yes. It was way too fast after Dylan came to see you." Killian sighed. "I'm sure their father was not happy his little girl got rejected."

I looked at dad. He hasn't said anything since before Killian called. "What do you think dad?"

He rubbed his chin and tilted his head. "I think Killian is right. Mr. Bradley seems to have something planned and when you bonded Killian and rejected Azule seemed to have thrown a snag into it."

Huh. I thought it was him getting revenge on me for rejecting Azule. If dad is right the plan started when I met Azule.

"I agree. I did think it was odd when she acted the way she did when we ran into her that day." I can still hear typing so Killian was still working. "Given how her brother acted it's a given that something is going on."

"Ok. Let's keep an eye on them. We will set in motion our own plan." I sat back and crossed my arms.

"Umm. I have to go. I'm getting another call." Killian suddenly said.

"Ok. See you later."

"Bye Killian. Thanks for helping us." Dad told Killian.

"No problem Mason. Anytime."

Then the call was cut. I looked at dad. "Thanks to Killian we lucked out. No harm done and we know who did it."

"Yes. That's one hell of a mate you got there son."

I smiled. "I know."

Killian POV

I hung up the call with Raiven and answered the incoming call. It was Henrie. I gave him my number a while back so he could call me about whatever I have him working on and don't have to wait till school.

"Yes?"

"I have the info about Azule Bradley." Henrie's voice sounded odd.

"Tell me." I commanded. After all, I did end the call with my mate for this.

"Her family owns the company Hellvener."

I could feel my lips move. "Oh yeah?" I'm not liking this company more and more.

"Yes. It seems like a pack owns it. If I'm right about all the packs around here, the pack that owns Hellvener is the Nightshade pack."

"Nightshade? Like the poisonous flower?" I tilted my head. No decent pack would name themselves after a poisonous plant.

"Yes. It looks like it isn't a decent pack. They have hands in everything bad you can think of." I heard some papers ruffling.

"Like what?"

"They have manipulated multiple companies to either close or merge with them. After they merge Hellvener is in charge. Not a single member of the merged company is left."

I tilted my head. Yup. Not liking this company. If I'm right about this, they want GoldFang. The best way to get it is to have the heir to marry one of their own.

"What part does Azule play in the pack?"

More ruffling. "Umm. She's the alphas' daughter."

"Thought so." I mumbled.

"It looks like they use her for most of the manipulating. She seduces the heirs and has them convince their fathers to merge. Sometimes it doesn't work and they just close so they don't have to worry about Hellvener coming after them."

"What kind of companies do they normally target?" I asked. I turned back to the monitors. My fingers never stopped moving while I was talking to Henrie.

"Up and coming companies or ones that were in Hellveners way."

"Oh? So this is the first time they went after a company as big as GoldFang?"

"Huh? After GoldFang? What do you mean?" Henrie asked. Guess he didn't know that one.

"They started buying up GoldFang's stock an hour ago. I was making sure they didn't get much and tracked down who did it. I even got back what they bought."
