Chapter 3:Adventuring

Due to Darvin persistent nagging Aldin agreed. After gaining enough courage they finally walked out the door. What Aldin saw after getting out was very new to him, his curiosity got the better of him and he ended up running to gawk at everything. Darvin ran close behind him to avoid loosing him but is very tough for him and ended up getting way too tired to continue and struggled to keep up with him. This brought Aldin back to his senses, he turned back to check on him, out of shock tears started running down his cheeks as he saw his dear friend on the ground hoping nothing bad had happened to him. People begun getting close due to Aldin's crying, the appearance of unfamiliar people caused fear to rise up in Aldin, an emotion he was unfamiliar with and he begun wailing even louder preventing anyone from getting close to him. The loud wailing caused Darvin to regain his consciousness since he could not bear all that noise, Aldin didn't notice this but when Darvin held his hand up to reassure him Aldin finally found relief prompting him to stop crying. After finally getting enough strength to walk the two left to go back home, some people were worried that Darvin would loose consciousness again and decided to follow them just incase anything happened but when they saw the house the duo got in they all ran out of fear of events that had happened seven years ago. Aldin did not notice them running away and neither did Darvin as they got in the house. Aldin walked in and placed him on the couch when he turned back he locked eyes with both his mother who was seated in the other side of the room fuming. Fear gripped him tight, he stopped breathing weakness of his legs brought him to his knees and soon after his consciousness .

When I got home I couldn't find the children in the house. Full of worry I was about to run out to Lark but just as I was about to leave Aldin walked in with Aldin by his side they didn't look hurt but were very tired. When we locked eyes fear overcame him and seconds later he was down on the floor unconscious.

After the hunt we went back to the guild I was assigned rank B, got my card which meant I had to complete a request at minimal every month. After being properly welcomed I begun my journey back home.

When I got home Lark and Silvia were yelling at Aldin, apparently he had left the house, at first this puzzled me until the duo told me, away from the children, about a past event five years ago.

"Then why don't you just get him a protective item, that way he can learn about the world and still keep him safe, after all you can't protect him forever." I said after they told me about Aldin's origin

Despite their desire to keep Aldin safe they still had to let him learn his way in the world.

"She does have a point," Lark said to Silvia.

"I know she does, and that's what makes it even harder and that's why will personally craft one for him." Silvia said.

"Wait, you know how to craft magical items." I said almost as a whisper out of shock. Makes who could craft magical items were quite rare but one was my neighbour.

"Of course, how do you think I was able to become vice captain of the knights." Silvia said.

In a few days Silvia had crafted Aldin and Darvin two identical blue pendants that looked like drops of water but after synching they produced a strong magical presence. And together with the pendants they also got the permission to leave the house as much as they wanted. But despite the freedom they got the choose to stay in the house since every time they went out the would just receive glares and the other kids would just ignore him.

With time Aldin and Darvin stopped getting out of the house but still kept the pendants, and after getting tired of their toys they found some of the Randell tomes that mainly talked about magic arts, beasts, and the history of the kingdom in the family library, they begun reading and time flew by very fast. It was too late when their parents found them in the library, the two had already gotten too immersed in books yhay they seemed glued, after that they would spend most of their time reading these books and rarely would they get up for an entire day after a year . They had grown thin from never remembering meal times and gotten long shaggy hair, after which they were banned from the library until they were able to get back some body mass.

Out of boredom all they had to do was sit out in the sun and bask in it. It had become there daily routine.

One day the duo were enjoying the mid morning sun together but suddenly, the air got cold, and small icicles formed in the air, the wind came rushing down on them and pushed Aldin away before Darvin began floating up, his body began heating up as he began screaming in agony as pain filled his mind when Lark ran out before mana filled the air, but when he saw what was happening he relaxed waiting for the process to end. Aldin slowly began to walk towards Darvin when light from the sun pierced the clouds landing on Aldin and water in the air formed ice pillars as the earth also began to quake and crystals formed in his skin the mana in the air got extremely dense that halos of different colors formed in the sky before descending in the duo. From now on the would be in a different world from what they were used to.
