CHAPTER ELEVEN

The next morning, she found a note on her office floor again.

This time, it read, "The key to what you are looking for is not in Anita's hands. It is within you."

The killer clearly didn't know about her conversation with Claudia.

Remembering that Joseph Hitler had called Anita to class during her talk with her under the tree.

She began to wonder if he might be involved, especially since he hadn't mentioned Justina's case during his interview with her.

This made her suspicious, which grew even more when she saw Joseph and Anita sitting together in class, contrary to what Claudia had said—Claudia had mentioned that Sophia was Anita's new seat partner.

But now, Joseph was sitting with Anita?

She waited at the back of the class, and when Anita came out, she followed her.

Anita trembled when she saw Anna. "The more you follow me, the more my life is in danger," she said.

"Why danger? And why aren't you telling me everything, Anita?" Anna asked.

"I have told you everything. I don't want to be friends with the F4 group anymore," Anita replied.

"Why is that?"

"Nothing. No one cares about Justina or me. Everyone is selfish," Anita said, making Anna even more confused.

"What about Joseph? Why is he your new seat partner?" She probed.

"He asked to be my seat partner this morning," Anita replied.

"All of a sudden?"

"Yes."

"Don't you think it's suspicious?"

"It's not. Joseph prefers female friends. He's always been like that. He doesn't really get along with guys," Anita explained.

Anna nodded silently, watching Joseph enter the cafeteria with two of the F4 girls.

She stayed calm, standing by the class, when the school head boy and class captain approached her with mischievous glances."You're still at Saint High?" Stephen asked.

Alex looked at Anna with interest. "I heard your brother is the famous Jerry Guy on Sound FM."

Anna was surprised that the two boys knew so much about her. "How did you know that?"

"You posted about him on his birthday last year on your Instagram page," Alex said.

She chuckled and nudged him. "When will you learn to mind your business?"

Alex gazed into her eyes. "I saw Detective Fred making passes. How dare he stare at my crush?"

They all burst out laughing.

Joseph reappeared outside the cafeteria, talking on the phone.

Leaving the group of boys, Anna headed towards the Saint High chapel buildings.

The killer had claimed three victims in different chapels, leaving the third chapel untouched.

If the pattern continued, the next target would be in that third building.

Theresa's mother had dedicated three entire buildings as the Saint High worship center: one for Catholics, called Lord Raphael, and the other two for Pentecostals.

Even the Muslim students were forced to attend one of the chapels, as no mosque was built on the Saint High compound.

Anna quickly entered the chapel and found Laurel Bernie deep in prayer at the altar, unaware of her presence.

Laurel Bernie was also one of the students she had interviewed.

Not wanting to disturb him, she climbed the stairs to check the balcony.

Despite the tight security and CCTV cameras, she wondered, was it possible for the killer to strike again, even with the increased security at Saint High?
