CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Richard was the one who woke her up the next morning.

She had slept longer than she should have.

"Theresa is on the line," he said, handing her the phone.

For Theresa to call this early...She quickly took the phone from her husband and put it to her ear.

"Hello, Tesa."

"Another student has been murdered," Theresa said.

Her heart raced. "What do you mean, Tesa?"

"Claudia Ricardo. Do you remember? You interviewed her. The serial killer has murdered her."

Claudia Ricardo... Was the student who had been so scared when she came to her office to complain about Anita.

Now she was dead.

She had thought Anita would be the next victim.

But Claudia, who she should have protected, was gone.

She had abandoned her for Anita.

She broke down, crying in Richard's arms, blaming herself for jumping to conclusions.

She called Anita into her office for questioning, now filled with anger.

If Anita had been more open, Claudia might still be alive.

She glared at Anita. "Are you ready to talk now?"

Anita sobbed.

Anna tossed a handkerchief at her. "Wipe your tears and talk!" she demanded.

"Justina and Claudia liked the same guy. Justina was dating him, but Claudia slept with him. Justina was so angry with Claudia. She said the F4 group was over and that we were all hypocrites."

"What's the guy's name?" Anna asked.

"I don't know. But on the day Justina died, we were walking together, though they weren't speaking to each other. This morning, I found something strange on my phone. Someone who knew my password used my phone to message Claudia to come upstairs last night. It must have happened during night class because I was charging my phone by the window." She showed her the message on her phone screen.

It read,'Claudia, meet me at God's Grace Chapel at 7:40 pm.'

Anna gasped as she pieced it together.

The killer had used the same trick, luring them to the hall through their friends.

She rushed into the ongoing class, went straight to Joseph Hitler's phone, and grabbed it. "Enter your password," she demanded.

Joseph hesitantly entered the password, and Anna checked his call logs, text messages, and social media.

There was nothing suspicious.

"Come with me!" she ordered, leading him to her office.

Tears welled in his eyes."I didn't kill Claudia," he insisted.

"Then who did?" she asked, fuming.

He swallowed hard. "I quarreled with Queen the day she died. Check our WhatsApp chats."

She opened his chats with Queen and read through them.

Joseph had confessed his feelings to Queen, but she refused to date him."I didn't tell you this because I thought you'd think I was the killer. But now I realize the serial killer used me to lure Queen. He did the same with Francess."

"Francess?"

"Francess and Queen quarreled after our exams. Francess had promised to help Queen in the exam hall but broke her promise. Queen failed two subjects, and then Francess died suddenly."

"The killer is among us, luring people and sowing confusion."

All these victims had been lured by their own friends.

But if it wasn't Joseph Hitler...Who was the real killer?
