CHAPTER FIFTEEN

After work, she hurried to Jessica's school.

At the gate, she met Mrs. Tricia, Jessica's principal, who looked worried. "Ma'am, Jessica was in class, but suddenly, we can't find her," Mrs. Tricia said anxiously.

Anna rushed into her daughter's classroom, but despite searching everywhere, Jessica was nowhere to be found.

Panicking, Anna called Richard, who said he thought she had already picked up Jessica.

Overwhelmed, Anna collapsed, haunted by memories from three years ago, ignoring the teachers' attempts to comfort her.

Richard rushed in, out of breath. "Let's go find her, Anna. Nothing will happen to our daughter. The Lord promised me that!"

"The Lord? Who told you He doesn't turn His back on His children?" she replied sarcastically.

"Not the one I serve," he said and walked away.

She followed him, feeling helpless.

Once in her car, she saw him driving away with hope.

Sobs overwhelmed her as fear took hold.

He gently covered her hand, his face filled with a calm hope, just like when Jessica was kidnapped three years ago.

As they approached a traffic warden, their hearts raced when they saw their daughter standing behind him, looking scared.

They quickly got out of the car and embraced her as she sought comfort in their arms.

Anna gently touched her daughter's hair and body, "My child, did they do anything to you?"

In the midst of relief, Anna's phone received a private message that sent fear through her: "I hope you learned from the threat... Leave Saint High, or my next victim will be Jessica Robert."

Trying to call the number back was useless; it was unidentified on Truecaller and unregistered.

If he could kill Mrs. Papaya, who had escaped from the school, he could very well kill Jessica.

Panic set in as she realized how close she came to losing her daughter.

She sobbed as she watched Jessica in her father's arms, the weight of it all hitting her.

She felt grateful that God had spared Jessica's life.
