CHAPTER TEN- Flames of Deceit

Just when Daniel was about to head to the office, he heard the report about his company. He was shocked and paused for a moment.

"What do mean? Daniel shouted.

"Boss, are you ok?" Katherine asked Curiously, as she was shocked due to the screaming of Daniel.

"Hurry up Harry! Drive as fast as you can, my storage center is on fire! Daniel exclaimed as he agonized.

"What! How is that possible?" Harry asks shocked with disbelief. They all hurry up and drive back to the office.

Daniel, overcome with disbelief, surveyed the charred remnants of what was once a flourishing inventory. The weight of the loss, both financially and emotionally, pressed down on him like an insurmountable burden.

"This is a catastrophic blow to the company. How could a fire break out so suddenly?" Daniel muttered, more to himself than to anyone else.

Harry, still on the ground, shook his head in dismay. "Boss, this is a massive setback. The entire storage, including products ready for export and those already paid for, is gone."

Katherine, her eyes wide with shock, struggled to comprehend the enormity of the situation. "One hundred million dollars' worth of products... it's unbelievable."

As they stood amidst the wreckage, Lisa, still visibly shaken, tried to provide some information. "I... I don't know how it happened. I just heard the fire alarm, and when I rushed in, the whole room was engulfed in flames."

Daniel clenched his fists, a mixture of frustration and anger coursing through him. "We need to investigate this thoroughly. A fire of this magnitude doesn't just happen without a cause."

Just then, a thought crossed Daniel's mind. The recent revelations about his mother's murder, the anonymous letter, and the unexpected destruction of the company's products—was there a connection? Was someone deliberately sabotaging him?

"We need to find out who's behind this," Daniel declared, his jaw set with determination. "Harry, Katherine, gather all the information you can. I want to know if there's any link between the fire and what we've been uncovering about my family."

Just as the weight of the situation settled in, a notification pinged on Daniel's phone. It was an email from the board directors, subject: "Emergency Meeting."

"What now?" Daniel muttered, his brows furrowed with a mix of anger and confusion.

Katherine, attempting to piece together the unfolding events, asked, "Could the board be involved in this somehow? I mean, the timing is too coincidental."

Harry, regaining some composure, suggested, "Let's not jump to conclusions, but we need to attend that meeting. There might be more to this than meets the eye."

With a heavy heart, Daniel nodded in agreement. "We need to get to the bottom of this. There's something more at play here."

The trio embarked on a quest for answers, their minds racing with the need to unravel the intricate web of events that seemed to be closing in on Daniel.

Little did they know that the challenges they faced were part of a carefully orchestrated strategy, and the mastermind behind it remained hidden, pulling the strings from the shadows.

As they delved deeper into the mystery, they were about to uncover a truth that would shake the very foundations of Daniel's world, leaving him to question not only his past but also the uncertain future that awaited him and the company he had tirelessly built.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Gwen has been pressuring the investors of D&Co Uni-Sex Company.

"Mom, do you think the strategy will work?" Jerry asked.

"Yeah! If I keep pressuring them, they might even sue him, and his company will end up bankrupt," she scoffed.

Just then, Mrs. Gwen received a call from an unidentified man.

"Are you behind the arson case at D&co Uni-Sex Company?" He asked.

"Yeah! We need to ruin him as well," she said.

"You shouldn't have involved the company of the kid," he said angrily.

"Don't tell me you are growing fond of him more than your legitimate children." She replied.

"Don't try to avoid my questions; how can I love him more than Joe and Jerry?" he said.

"Don't worry, everything will soon be over; we will be able to live together." Mrs. Gwen said it happily.

The next morning, Daniel is in an emergency meeting with the board directors and investors. They're requesting Daniel to step down from the post of director, or else they are going to leave the company and request a refund of their money.

"Can you give me just 7 days? I promise you things will be back to normal." Daniel pleaded, sacrificing his position in return for 7 days.

The board directors agreed.

Daniel stepped out of the meeting room and had a conversation with Harry.

"Boss! The forensics team discovered a gallon of gasoline used at the site; it's not an accident, it's arson." Harry said.

"What! Then who is the instigator?" Daniel asked curiously.

"Investigation is still ongoing, and besides, we were told that they will scan the fingerprints found on the remains of the gallon to know who the intruder was," Harry said with a sense of hope.

"If that's true, then we're on the right track; sooner or later, we will know who the intruder was," Daniella exclaimed.

"But first, let's check the CCTV; maybe we can see some hint as to who entered the storage room," Daniel suggested.

They went to the control room to check if there was any odd person in the office around the time of the incident.

While checking it, Daniel saw two strange people with nose masks running after the fire alarm went out.

Halt! Daniel said, "Rewind it to 2 hours before the alarm went on." He was trying to see if the two strange men were there around that time.

Fortunately for him, they were seen entering the office with nose masks.

"Can you zoom in?" he asked the security.

"Yes Boss!" The security zoomed in and compared the two pieces of footage.

"Print the two pieces of footage; I need it as quickly as possible," Daniel said angrily.

Daniel already has hints of who they are.
