Answering Eternity | Chapter 32

Jade starts to think about what Aaron said. "Is this really what she wants?" He thinks to himself, Rose walks downstairs outside to Aaron and Jade. She sits down beside him. "What's on your mind?" Aaron scoffs she looks up at him "Shut up". Jade looks at her sad as he feels all these "things" talk to him inside his mind. Rose keeps trying to get his attention. "Hello? Jade?" Aaron walks inside upstairs to Winter and lies down beside her. Jade looks at the door and then back at Rose "I just want to be with Renesmae, but I don't know if I did the right thing, by making Dante leave for good" Rose's smile fades "You made him leave?!" he stands up and the "things" scream in his mind. Rose grabs him and starts to shake him "Jade!?" He turns into a ghost and disappears. Rose looks around and sighs "Jade what have you done?" She walks into the house to find Renesmae sitting on her bed covered up with her fuzzy red blanket. "Hey," Rose says as she closes the door behind her. Renesmae turns around "Oh, hi Rose" She sees that Rose seems to be upset about something. "Hey, is everything okay?" she asks as she grabs Rose's hands. Rose looks at her "Did Jade make Dante leave you?" Renesmae lets go of her and sits down by the window "Rose listen, I never really wanted to be with Dante. I just did it to keep us all safe from Hunter." Rose stands beside her "Renesmae listen to me, okay? You shouldn't ever have to feel like you have to do that okay?" Renesmae starts to cry "I feel so bad for acting like I wanted to be with him!" Rose gets up and looks out the window "You know, Jade seems to really have a thing for you" She looks up "I know he does" Rose leaves the room while Renesmae grabs her phone and screams. Everything goes quiet in the house. Jade hears her scream echo through the woods, he runs back to the house up the room. He yells "Aaron!" He runs upstairs to see a note and sees blood all around Renesmae's room. He waves his hand around the room and sees that it wasn't Hunter who was there but someone with Hunter's DNA. Jade looks around the room as his anger builds up "Aaron who the fuck was it!?" Aaron stops waving his hands around the room and looks at Jade "Well it wasn't Hunter, but someone with Hunter's DNA" Jade's eyes turn white "Who was it, Aaron!" Aaron snaps and Jade passes out. Rose comes up to her room and puts her hands over her mouth. She starts to cry as Aaron walks over to her and holds her. "It's okay Rose" She looks around and sees the blood everywhere. "She put up a fight it seems" Aaron lets her go and runs to Winter's room. "Rose!" she runs to their room and sees Winter is gone "Aaron it is following in Hunter's steps" he holds Rose as she cries more. Soon the doorbell goes off, Aaron turns into a full demon and grabs the gun. He opens the door, it's Hunter and Oliva. He holds the gun up at Hunter "Where is my daughter?!" Hunter puts his hands up "Wo wo wo there Aaron, I don't know but I was coming to ask you if you have seen our son Lucas?" Aaron lowers the gun and looks at Oliva. She has her head down. He looks back into the house "No I haven't, but Renesmae and Winter are gone." Hunter looks at Oliva "He must have taken them" Aaron looks at them "What do you mean Lucas is just a kid" Hunter looks up at him "Not anymore he isn't" Aaron looks at him confused "What do you mean he isn't a kid anymore?" Oliva looks behind Aaron and sees Jade. She looks down. Aaron sees her put her head down "Hunter, your son took my daughter and Renesmae, find them or you will die Oliva will too." Hunter grabs her face "Did you just..." Oliva looks him in his eyes "No, I didn't" Hunter lets her face go and looks back at Aaron "All right, I'll help you get your family back, but I want something in return" Aaron growls "Your kid took my family jackass!" Hunter smiles "He is following his dad's steps, but we told him never to be bad." Aaron starts to lose his temper. "Hunter what do you want!?" He looks at Oliva then back at Jade "I want Jade to be gone forever" Aaron turns around and sighs then looks back at Hunter "Done". Jade throws a book at Aaron's head "I'm not leaving!" Aaron puts his hand up at Jade, holding him up off the ground by his neck "Jade, you will come up missing if you tempt me, this is my sister." Hunter looks at Aaron "He must be gone by tonight or deal is off, Understand?" Aaron nods as Oliva and Hunter walk away. He closes the door and lets Jade go. "Aaron what the hell!?" He looks at Jade and sits down. "Aaron, I'm talking to you!" Aaron goes to put his hand up but stops himself. "Jade, we will move away somewhere where Hunter can't find us" Jade calms down, Rose comes downstairs after finding the note in Renesmae's room she reads it aloud "I see you found my note and yes I took her and your daughter. If you want them back, you will give me what I want. Meet me in the woods at 3 bring no one Aaron or they both will die. Signed L" Aaron looks at Rose then Jade "Rose get Jade out of here it's already 10:31" Jade goes upstairs and grabs his things. Rose hugs Aaron "You have to come back, okay?" Aaron nods as he holds her. He turns into his human form and puts on the ripped coat that he takes when he is going to go battle. He walks out the door and slowly closes it behind him. "This is it, where I make my final stand" he sighs and walks into the woods and sees a figure standing there but it isn't Lucas its Hunter "Aaron?" "Yeah?" Hunter walks up to him "It's Lucas who took them" Aaron nods "I know, and I know what he wants" Hunter looks at him "What does he want?" Aaron stands tall "He wants me dead" Hunter looks at Aaron and they talk for a few more hours until it's 2:58 in the morning. "I'll see you around Aaron" Hunter says as he walks off into the darkness. Aaron keeps walking and sees him, Lucas all grownup with a mask covering his face "Well" he says as he pulls his mask down "If it isn't Aaron the demon in the flesh" he laughs. Aaron walks closer to him "I'm guessing you're Lucas, Hunter's kid" he nods "That's right" He looks at Aaron "You don't look like any demon, just another useless human" The words echo through Aaron's mind as he turns into his true form. "Now what did you just call me?" Lucas looks up at him "There we go Mr.Badass" Aaron growls "Where are my daughter and Renesmae?!" Lucas laughs "They are somewhere" Aaron goes to swing at Lucas but he doges it. His eyes widened. No one has ever been able to doge one of my hits. He swings again but misses, Lucas laughs "Don't even try to touch me, you will fail." Aaron growls "Where are they? I won't ask again." Back at the house, Jade paces back and front knowing he can't leave nor ask everyone to come with him. He knows it's a pain for Aaron and Rose, this is their home. He knows what he must do. He goes off and finds Rose crying in her room while packing their things up. He leans on the doorway "Rose?" she looks up and wipes her tears away "Yes, Jade?" she says with a scratchy voice. He sits down beside her "You don't have to do this; I will leave, and your family can still stay here." Rose lays her head on his shoulder "Jade it doesn't matter; they will always come back for us. No matter what we do we will always be in danger." She cries harder than before, Jade holds her "Aaron will be back with Winter, don't worry, okay?" Her eyes turn a bright purple, He lets her go "Rose? Are you okay?" he backs up and watches her. Her eyes turn back to normal "Let's go now, I know where they are!" She runs out the front door and Jade follows. She sees a tree she recognizes; it was Aaron's old house from when he was hiding. She climbs up and Jade flies up, she pushes the door open slowly not knowing what to expect. "Winter? Renesmae?" she says quietly, Jade looks around the place and sees a book. He smiles but doesn't touch it, it was the book Aaron used to study Zack and the others. Jade stands still as he hears the floorboards creek. "Rose stop moving" She stops as the floorboards continue to creek. He looks towards the closet it's got all these locks on it "Rose..." he points towards the closet. She holds her hand up and nods "They are in there" Jade slowly opens the door and there laid 2 blood puddles. Jade hits his knees not knowing what to say. Rose looked at him "Are we too late?" she asked as he stayed speechless. Back in the woods, Aaron keeps asking Lucas where they are. Lucas walks around Aaron looking at his body, his horns, all of it. "What are you doing Lucas?" he laughs "I'm just looking at the "Mr.Badass", seems he isn't everything people say he is." Aaron growls "I'm more than a man than you will ever be kid" Lucas pushes him then raises his hand holding Aaron back. "How...?" Aaron asks as he tried to get a hold of Lucas "Aaron, I don't think you understand all the powers I have." Aaron's eyes widen "That's right Aaron, I have Olivas DNA and Hunters. You put those together and you get a strong as fuck child" Aaron closes his eyes and opens them, they are a dark glowing red. He holds Lucas up off the ground "You don't know who you're messing with Lucas, you're still a child" Lucas laughs "I'm not a child, put me down and we will settle this." Aaron holds him in place "What do you want out of this Lucas? Even if you kill me, there will still be other people coming for you." He lets Lucas go "This will all be over with, Aaron. My dad will be so proud of me." Aaron looks at him "Lucas, me and your dad have fixed our problems. Once you were born, he stepped away from me and my family." Lucas screams at him "Everything that has happened was because of you! My dad lost everything because of you!" He swings at Aaron, knocking him down. Aaron doesn't fight back. "Lucas listen, you need to stop now. Before it's too late, I don't want to kill Hunter's only kid. As if it would matter either way." Lucas stops just for a moment "My dad loves me! So does my mother!" Aaron looks at him as his eye color goes back to normal and he turns back into a human. "Lucas, just tell me where my girls are." Lucas swings at him again "You don't understand, and you never will!" In the woods Rose and Jade try to figure out what they are going to do. Rose keeps trying to talk to Jade, he won't answer her. "I've failed," he tells her as he keeps looking at the ground. A girl walks out of the shadows in the woods. She has two different colored eyes, one blue and one gold. She's wearing a black hood barely looking up "Hello there" she says in a quiet voice. Rose and Jade look up at her "Who are you?" he asks her. She grins "I'm nobody, just a person such as yourself" he looks at Rose, and she looks back at this "girl". Rose takes a deep breath "Can you help us find some people?" she smiles "Who are you looking for?" Rose walks to her "A little girl with blond hair and blue eyes around 5 years old and another girl around 19 black hair and light red eyes. "Have you seen them around?" Rose asks her. "I may have seen some girls like that earlier in the night I think." Rose and Jade run up to her "Do you think you can take us to them?" he asks the mysterious girl. She looks up at them and you can see the scar she has over her gold eye "I can" she says. They start walking through the woods as it gets later in later into the night. It felt like they were walking for hours before they came upon a house with smoke coming out of the chimney. Jade looks at Rose and can tell that she doesn't like this one bit. The girl opens the door and walks to a man sitting in the chair facing the fire "I found these two out in the woods, very far into them actually" The man puts his hand up, and the girl stops talking. Rose and Jade walk into the living room area where the girl and man are. They sit down on the couch hoping that he will know where Renesmae and Winter are. The man stands up and turns around to look at Rose and Jade, his eyes are a light purple and his hair is a dark brown. "So, you two are looking for someone no?" Jade stands up "Yes, we are" The girl looks at him standing side by side you could tell that they had something for each other. The man nods "What makes you think they would be this far out into the woods sir?" Jade looks at Rose and then back at the man "Well, we know they are out here. We found their blood in Aaron's old house in the woods." The man puts his hand up "This Aaron, is a demon, right?" Rose stands up as well "Yes he is, have you seen him out here too?" The man turns and looks back at the fire "I may have I might have not." Rose gets angry very fast, "Just tell us if you have so we can go!" The man didn't take her tone too lightly, he waved his hands and knocked the both of them out cold. "Rain, baby take them to one of the rooms upstairs. The one with the lock on the outside." Rain nods and levitates them up the stairs into the room on the floor. She locks the door from the outside and walks back downstairs to the man. "What are we going to do with them? I haven't even seen any of the people they are looking for." The man kisses her cheek "I know whom they are looking for baby, but we can't take them to that place." she looks at him "But why? Those girls could be in real danger." he nods "Baby, we would be in danger if we even dared to get in this mess they are in" She hugs the man "Kai, we can't stand for this" he kisses her "Rain, I can't risk losing you too, okay?" she nods and walks up the stairs to go to bed. Kai walks out on the front porch and his sister Azazel appears holding a jacket. "Hello sister," Kai says as he takes the jacket "I found this in the woods close to the outside lands, a blood trail leads into them" Kai nods "There are two people locked upstairs named Jade and Rose, they are looking for three people and it seems the girls must have been taken to this place." Azazel shakes her head "What are you thinking!? What if they come here to look for them!?" Kai puts his hand up "Sister, if anyone did come onto our lands it's instant death. Especially those from the outside lands, but these two are not from there. They are city people, I can just tell that they are." Azazel looks around out into the darkness "Why do you even have them?" he looks back at the house "The girl got a tone with me that I didn't like, so I locked both of them up. I'll let them go in the morning but as of right now they are staying here." she sighs as she starts to walk into the darkness "You don't know what your up against here brother.." Kai walks back inside and closes the door, he lays the jacket on the chair and heads upstairs to go to sleep.
