Chapter Two

I wake up with a burning in my throat. It was early morning.Looking at the clock, I noticed it was 2am. Pizza before bed was a horrible choice for my heartburn. I stumble out of Logan's arms into the bathroom after some Tums. Opening the medicine cabinet, I grab three of them, popping them in my mouth.

I hear Logan enter the bathroom. "You okay?" He asks.

I nod. "Just heartburn."

I make my way back into the living room. I notice Logan is putting on his coat. I feel myself frown. "You're not staying the night?"

"I am going to leave, you still have class in the morning", he answers.

"So?"

He walks closer to me and kisses me on the forehead. " I will see you tomorrow," he says.

"Okay," I let out a deep breath.

Once Logan was out the door, I move towards the bedroom. Undressing the bed, I climb in the sheets. What is going on with Logan. Does he not want me anymore?

I think about our relationship until sleep takes over me.

I hear my alarm charm. I roll over, placing my hand on the spot where I wish Logan slept. He acted so strangely yesterday. I rub my eyes.

Getting out of bed, my feet feel cold on the tile flooring. I put on my slippers and move towards the kitchen for some breakfast. Opening the cupboard,I grab the Corn Flakes and a bowl and milk from the refrigerator.

Sitting at the table, I take a big spoonful of cereal. Taking out my phone, I send Logan a text.

Are you okay? I text.

Minutes pass by. He must be sleeping still.

Soon, I am dressed. I wear a red checkered sundress and cowboy boots. Unlocking my car, I am not ready for the drive to the College campus. I still have not heard from Logan. I live in apartments about five miles away.

The streets weren't very busy this morning. I listen to the radio, as I drive in. singing along, I pull into the parking lot. My first class was English 102. I have an essay to turn in.

Once in the classroom, I place my essay into the basket that sat on the teacher's desk, and take a deep breath. I need an A. Mentally I wouldn't accept a B or anything less than perfect.

Making my way to my seat, I hear everyone talking. I usually try to keep to myself. Even in highschool, I was alway a shy quiet book nerd. I am not sure why Logan even likes me considering that he was a football star.

I take out my phone and send Logan one more text.

You okay?" I wrote.

My second and third class passed and still no word from Logan. I sit in the Cafeteria having a grilled chicken salad. My last class was advanced algebra. The class that's been occupying all my attention.

I hear my phone beep. Looking down, I feel relieved it was Logan.

Sorry I slept in. The message read.

Dang it's 12:30 I typed back .

Yep, I'm having lunch and headed to the gym. His next message read.

See you soon? I message back.

Yeah, you bet. I read.

I copied equations off the whiteboard until my hand was in pain. Not really understanding any of them.

"Do you understand this?" A guy named Rick asks me.

I shake my head. " No." I laugh.

Rick was a nerd looking boy. He has red hair, freckles and big huge glasses, but that's not why I say he is a nerd. He is always reading some type of graphic novel . And has Anime on his shirt. I usually see him playing a creature battle card games in the cafeteria .

"Do you need a study partner?" He asks, pushing up his glasses.

"Umm sure." I smile.

"What about at lunch monday in the cafeteria?" He asks.

"Yeah yeah, sounds good." I smile.
