The sun shone brightly into the bedroom, as it was a beautiful day. I was so happy Logan was home. My hand traces the outline of his chest. I love him more than anything, anyone.
He brings my hands to his lips. I love his touch, especially ones as simple as this.
He rubs his eyes and sits up.
"How's it like not waking up in the rehab center."
"Wonderful especially with you, He moves the hair behind my ear.
"Yeah, and hope this can be our forever."
He looks down for a moment, and I see him twirling his fingers, something he does when he gets nervous. "I wasn't exactly honest with you Tills."
"About?" I feel my heart drop.
"I joined the military. I left early to spend time with you."
"What, why? How could you decide that without me?" I feel the water starting to form in my eyes.
"The military will force me to stay away from drugs for a while."
"But you got better, you went to rehab."
"It's easy to relapse."
I nod. "I understand, but I won't let you."
"My drug dealer, she's still here and it's just too tempting."
"Well, why didn't you turn her in?" I hear my voice getting louder indicating that I was getting angry.
"Because she has children Tills."
"Like that's any type of mother." I cross my arms over my chest feeling disgusted.
"Will you quit being so damn judgmental? Life isn't easy."
"And your relationship with her is why you didn't turn her in."
"I never had a relationship with her. I made that all up, hoping you would stay the hell away."
I smile, as he rubs my cheek.
"Please don't say anything about Delilah selling drugs."
"I won't, she should get her life together too."
"She doesn't use, only sells."
I nod. It wasn't any of my business anyway.
"But I need you to do one thing for me?"
"What's that?"
"Marry me." I see the twinkle in his eyes and I know that he was serious but I couldn't help but feel upset that this is how he asked me. I've always dreamed of him proposing to me, and I can't believe it's happening like this.
"Wow, Logan."
My feet hit the floor as I climb out of bed I just need to get away I know I haven't seen him for a while but he's made me so frustrated.
"What's the problem Tills?"
"First you told me you signed up for the military without even consulting me and then asked me to marry you in this ridiculous way."
"Ridiculous way." He crossed his arms over his chest.
"You don't think I've been dreaming about it and thinking about your proposal and then you just do it like this." I feel my face getting hot because I knew I was angry.
"You're so dramatic."
"Seriously!?" I yell.
Several minutes later after storming out of my apartment , I sat in the ice cream shop drinking a milkshake. Maybe I was too harsh on Logan, I don't know.
