Her Heart is Sensitive Too

Elijah Martinez's gaze on her was so intense, it felt as if it could melt her on the spot.

Overwhelmed, she instinctively stepped back, her head turning away, eager to escape the pressure his presence imposed.

"I'm... I'm hungry, I think I'll go grab something to eat," she said, turning to leave. His intensity was becoming too much for her to bear.

Elijah's gaze, burning yet tinged with a hint of cold disappointment, followed her hurried departure without uttering a word.

He remained still, watching her retreating figure as if in a trance.

He had thought his confession would surprise her, perhaps pleasantly. Now it seemed more like he had frightened her.

With a bitter smile, he clenched his fist tightly and punched a sturdy tree.

The force caused the tree to tremble slightly, dislodging a few leaves that fluttered down behind him, leaving behind a silence filled with desolation.
