Why Should I Feel Guilty?

The surgery was finally over. Sophie Martin's baby couldn't be saved, but fortunately, she was out of danger. 

Avery Miller breathed a sigh of relief upon receiving the doctor's update; Natalie Green's actions were alarmingly ruthless!

As the doctors wheeled Sophie out, still deep in unconsciousness, they mentioned she would need to stay in the hospital for observation for a few days. 

After signing the necessary paperwork, Avery called the mansion to have an elderly maid who still worked there come to look after Sophie. 

Then, she headed back to her college.

The dorm room was dark and empty without Jessica and Sarah Wilson around, its emptiness rather unsettling. 

Avery reached out to turn on the light but before her fingers could find the switch, strong arms pulled her into a muscular embrace.
