Intrigue

Sarah Wilson, having finally caught up to Ella Jackson, ran beside her with a smirk of triumph. "Hey, what's happening over there?" Ella kept her gaze fixed on the trio, recognizing Rex, Jessica, and someone who resembled Elijah Martinez.

"That's Elijah Martinez, isn't it? Does he need something from her? Ha, I bet the lovesick fool is asking about Avery again!"

"No, wait!" Ella Jackson's eyes widened. Despite her slight nearsightedness, she could clearly see Jessica Wilson's figure seeming to fall.

Ella pushed past Sarah, straining her eyes in hopes of a clearer view.

Sarah, initially giggling, stopped at Ella's serious expression and looked again towards the trio.

As they ran closer, Elijah Martinez scooped up Jessica Wilson. 

Rex Shelton, appearing furiously, pushed Elijah away with ease, snatching Jessica into his arms before dashing towards the school's infirmary.
