Don't Cry

"Avery, please don't cry. There's nothing we can't get through together, don't cry. Things will get better, they will," she murmured reassuringly into her ear, her own tears flowing in quiet empathy.

Avery Miller felt overwhelmed by grief, as if she was being suffocated by her sorrow. She turned and buried herself in Emily Davis's embrace, letting out her pain in loud sobs.

Emily Davis, slightly taken aback at first, quickly wrapped her arms around Avery again, resting her chin on Avery's shoulder and gently patting her back, unable to stop her tears from falling. "Let it all out, Avery. Cry as much as you need to; it'll feel better once you do."

Nathan Davis stood by, witnessing the heart-wrenching scene of the two women crying together. He felt a deep ache in his heart, and, unexpectedly, tears began to well up in his eyes too.
