You Cannot Die

It was a long while before he released her.

 

"Grace Anderson, could you make me a cup of coffee?" His voice was incredibly tender, his deep eyes shining with emotion.

 

"Sure," Grace Anderson looked at him, her eyes brimming with a ripple-like mirth.

 

As she turned towards the kitchen, Ethan Montgomery watched her retreating figure, pulling out an exquisitely packaged box from his pocket. It was the engagement ring he had bought from the jewelry store that morning.

 

Gazing at it, his heart leapt with joy. Yet, a persistent voice echoed in his mind, tumultuous thoughts churning within, making it slightly hard for him to breathe.

 

He thought it must be because he was about to propose to her that his body reacted so intensely; he was just too excited!

 

He tried to suppress the emotions swirling within him, ignoring that nagging voice at the back of his mind, striving for calmness and stability.
