Charismatic Charm

The vegetable vendor's face was all smiles, Avery Miller couldn't understand a word. She figured the lady was probably praising her vegetables. Derek Mason caught up to her, looking at the "odd vegetables" as Avery peered at him with her big, clear, bright eyes, puzzled. He knew instantly that she didn't understand what the lady was saying.

"He's saying you have a captivating charm," Derek explained with a twinkle in his eye.

Avery blushed and turned her head away slightly, her lips curving into a shy smile, "The local folks here really know how to give a compliment." Her cheeks flushed a deeper red, her laughter sweet and melodious.

The vendor chuckled along, adding a few more words. Avery couldn't catch them but kept her gaze fixed on the woman, guessing the gist of her words, which made her cheeks redden even more.
