Such a Waste

He continued, "This stage is informal, like an English town square where local seniors gather for their daily dance, free of any obstructions."

 

Avery Miller interjected, "It stands to reason that the square should be clear even on days when they don't dance."

 

Derek Mason gave her a look, his face showing a hint of exasperation, "It's just a metaphor," he paused before continuing, "It's the same here.

 

This stage is akin to their town square, and every evening, lesser-known singers and actors perform here to hone their skills.

 

Since they come here nightly and not just in small numbers, they've set up this open-air stage for their use. I suppose that large mirror over there is for them to adjust their outfits."

 

Avery leaned in closer, remarking, "To use such a big mirror, what a waste!"
