"Ethan Montgomery!" Avery Miller's eyes widened in shock as blood suddenly sprayed from his shoulder, splattering her face with its warm dampness.

Horrified, she watched him spin around and disappear into the wall beside them.

Outside, several more gunshots rang out, and Avery saw sparks fly from the opposite wall as bullets struck the brickwork.
