Avery Miller felt exasperated, caught between Ethan Montgomery's warmth and Derek Mason's icy demeanor whenever they faced each other. It left her in an awkward position.

Ethan remained pleasant and calmly stated, "Since he's already committed a crime, it's only right to hand him over to the police. I'm fine with whatever they decide."

Avery glanced up at him, and they exchanged a smile that Derek Mason found incredibly irritating. His face remained stern, but his voice, cold and mocking, ordered, "Since Mr. Montgomery has spoken, why aren't you arresting them already?"
