Dire Foxes

After a few minutes in each other's arms under the moonlight, Samuel and Elizabeth finally ended their embrace. He opened up his wings; releasing her, and tucking them snuggly behind him.

"It's time I take you home. I'm sure your parents are getting restless", Samuel said to her.

"Yeah, I guess", she replied. "Alright…let's go", he said as he pulled her closer to him and proceeded to carry her - princess style.

She yelped excitedly as she was surprised by his action. "Hold on tight", he instructed and she wrapped her arms around his neck, snuggling closer to his chest.

With Elizabeth secured in his arms, Samuel opened his wings wide and, with a few flaps, slowly rose off the ground, flying up to the sky.

He flew above the city, being careful to avoid being spotted by individuals still roaming the streets at such an ungodly hour. After a few minutes in the sky, they arrived at Elizabeth's family's estate.

Samuel descended to the ground, landing a block away from her estate's gates. After placing her down, he backed up a little and, with a dull glow, morphed back into his regular human form. She whistled in a teasing manner and he smiled in return.

He took her hand as they slowly walked up to the gates of her estate. When they arrived at the gate, the security quickly let them in.

When they got closer to the mansion, two Rottweilers appeared out of nowhere and jumped at the two.

"Raina!... Dio! I missed you both. Have you been good?" Elizabeth asked as the two large dogs barked back excitedly; their tails wagging fiercely behind them.

"They've really grown bigger since the last time I saw them", Samuel said as patted Raina on the head.

Raina and Dio are dogs from the same litter. They were rescued when their previous owner died of natural causes. Since they were just puppies then, they quickly grew a bond with Elizabeth and her household.

Although they went numb with fear the first time they met Samuel, pretty soon they were used to him and actually looked forward to his next visit.

"You know…seeing them reminds me of Drogo. I really want to see him again", Elizabeth said as she rubbed Dio's belly.

"I wanted it to be a surprise but…I'll be taking you on a trip to the mountains next month", Samuel announced.

"Really?!!" she enquired loudly. "Yeah! I've already sought permission from your mom and dad and they are on board", he replied. "I can't wait to see him", she said excitedly as they reached the doors of her home, where the butler stood waiting patiently.

After sharing a kiss goodbye, Samuel promptly left the estate, heading home through the sky.

...…....

Two years after he had been charged by his master with the subjugation of the entire mountainous forest zone, Drogo had finally succeeded in achieving his goal of total control. He stood as the apex of all the creatures in each and every corner of the large forest.

For the years that followed, he had assimilated all the separate wolf packs into one under his control, with other non wolves like ravens; that had grown oddly attached to them, also being among the members of the pack.

Another group added to the pack were a skulk of foxes that were rescued from a bear attack sometime back.

The ravens had made their presence in the pack useful by quickly leading the direwolves to the site of the one-sided battle.

Only half of the skulk were still alive and fighting back against the attacking bears.

Although the lead bear stood at a height of almost three meters tall, Drogo had no issues in putting it down. His speed, strength and ferocity were too much for the bear to repel.

The other bears were subjugated just as quickly by the rest of the direwolves, and forced to bow their heads to them.

With the end of the battle, Drogo allowed the remaining foxes to join his pack. A month after the foxes had recovered from their battle wounds and gotten used to life with the direwolves, the skulk leader; a very beautiful female silver colored fox, attached itself to Drogo; following him wherever he went. Although it irritated him at first, soon he was happy with her presence and they drew even closer.

......

The clouds parted as Samuel's large dragon form shot through the sky, on his way to the mountains.

Riding on his back were Elizabeth, Catherina and Helen; the two friends who insisted on joining in the trip since it was a long weekend.

High school was interesting, just not as interesting as the adventures they had together.

"Woah!! It's my second time but it's still awesome flying through the sky!" Helen shouted excitedly.

"I told you, didn't I? it's more fun to ride on my brother's back!" Catherina shouted back proudly.

"You two are really enjoying yourselves, aren't you?" Elizabeth called out to them from behind. Helen still had a slight dislike for Elizabeth but she understood that she could change nothing so, she did well to keep it to herself. "We haven't started yet", Catherina replied in an excited tone.

After a few minutes, Samuel reached the skies above the bare mountains. He lowered himself until he was just a few hundred meters above them.

He suddenly felt something and he went on alert. After a few more seconds, he decided to ignore it for now.

They soon reached the forest covered portion of the mountainst. He flew over the tall tree canopies. "Cover your ears…all of you", Samuel instructed and they obeyed immediately.

With a deep breath, Samuel let out a deafening roar that covered the entire zone as he sped through the air, the shockwave of his flight almost ripping out the trees.

Several loud howls resounded from deep in the forest, catching Samuel's attention. Samuel smiled as he his draconic vision caught hundreds of direwolves speeding through the forest in the direction he was flying in. Leading this army was the now two-meter-tall Drogo.

Samuel sped up, heading towards their old wooden house. When he arrived, he circled the house a few times before dropping down onto the open space in front of it. He spread out his wings and roared once again, establishing his dominion over the entire zone.

Seconds later, the ground shook as the army of giant beasts approached them. Catherina jumped off his back as Samuel helped the others down and morphed into his Prime Emergence form.

In his excitement, Drogo forgot to slow down and Drogo barreled straight into Samuel's chest, knocking him down and licking him all over.

"Hahaha!! I missed you too buddy!" Samuel shouted as he played with the large direwolf on the ground. Helen hid behind Catherina and gazed at the numerous wild beasts that towered over her.

Drogo stopped attacking Samuel and turned his attention to Catherina. He trotted to her and she hugged him excitedly.

"You've really grown bigger than before", she said as she embraced the furry beast tightly. Drogo's tail wagged furiously in excitement.

"Hey Drogo…do you remember me?" Elizabeth asked drawing the direwolf's attention. Drogo walked up to her, sniffing all over her body and upon recognizing her, happily pounced on her, licking her face all over.

After Drogo was satisfied, he took a step back, turned to his pack and barked loudly.

After a few seconds, a path was made from the center of the pack to the front as a beast, almost as large as Drogo, trotted up to them; a pair of cubs following it.

"I knew that it was possible, but it's still shocking to see. That is a real dire fox", Samuel said as the creature reached them and slowly lowered its head to them in reverence.
