Ch 38 - Not So Private Training

Albion had decided to try and improve his swordsmanship. After finding such a great mage to teach him magic. He decided to try and put more effort into his sword skills. So after training the paladin swordsmanship, he started the homework that Bevil gave his class. Albion was not just standing there. Holding his sword with two hands. He was training to become one with his sword in the basic open training areas. Spending his weekend on this. His eyes closed. No mana sense active.

He had used his regular stance but both his arms were already sore. He didn't know what this was supposed to achieve. He knew what the teacher said it would help do. But Albion couldn't feel anything and he had been practicing for over 2 hours.

Albion: {Focus on the sword. Be one with the sword.}

Albion kept on thinking as he took slow calming breaths. Holding the sword in a comfortable grip. His stance was also comfortable. His slow breaths became slower and slower. His heart beating at a slower pace than it had ever been before. He tried to relax into the position. But it was so difficult with sore arms while holding his sword.

It became even more difficult when someone slapped him in the back of the head. Albion opened his eyes.

Albion: *Sigh* I know damn well that wasn't my mother. It was too pathetic.

Albion slowly turned around to see who it was. When he turned around he saw someone he remembered very well. The daughter of the sword saint. The white straight-haired girl. Silver eyes. Pale skin. The same one that had asked him to watch the strike dummies on the first day. Albion looked very unamused when he looked at the girl.

Albion: What do you want? Can't you see I'm trying to practice?

???: A commoner dare address me so casually! {I CAN'T BELIEVE HE WAS SO RUDE TO CALL ME PATHETIC! AFTER WHAT I DID TOO!}

Albion: I don't even know your name to address you otherwise.

???: You don't know me?! Julie Tepion Von…

Albion put his hand out with one finger to silence her.

Albion: Only need to know your first name. I'm not saying all of that every time I meet you.

Julie: YOU! HOW DARE A COMMONER ADDRESS THE NEXT SWORD SAINT IN SUCH A MANNER! {I KNEW THIS COMMONER WAS AN ASSHOLE! THE RUMOURS MEAN NOTHING BUT HE TRIES TO SHOW OFF WHEN HE'S WEAK!}

Albion: {Wouldn't it be saintess since she's female? No, let's not discuss the semantics.} Please just leave. You're bothering me. I don't want to be friends with someone with your type of personality. Though it was nice meeting the "next sword saint."

Even though there may have been a big misunderstanding between the both of them. Both were rude to each other.

Albion turned back around as he quickly closed his eyes and got back into his previous stance. Julie who was standing behind him utterly shocked by such an attitude Albion was taking. No one had ever talked to her in such a way before. Not even other nobles. Her position within the nobility was so high even nobles higher than her wouldn't talk in such a manner.

Julie: You… YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO BECOME ONE WITH YOUR SWORD! AND YOU THINK I'M UNWORTHY TO BECOME YOUR FRIEND! ARE YOU IGNORING ME! DON'T IGNORE ME! I'M…

Albion was ignoring her. Her constant yapping was distracting but the more he focused the less he began to hear her. Trying his hardest to create a silence in his mind before focusing on the sword. His facial expression relaxed. He tried to loosen his body. His mind completely at peace while ignoring Julie. He couldn't even hear her anymore.

It felt weird but it felt like he was getting somewhere. A feeling. It was the absence of a certain feeling that was more prominent. Albion was about to recognise it. At least that was before he felt a cold metal pressed up against his neck.

Julie: I SAID DON'T IGNORE ME! I'M…

Albion: My brother in Christ will you SHUT THE FUCK UP!

A massive aura spiked from Albion and for a second Julie took a step back in instinct. Her arm and sword diagonally across her body in a defensive position. She was confident she could destroy Albion in a fight. Her skill with a sword is only second to her father, the current Sword Saint. She was on the precipice of Sword Aura and her body mana was controlled. But for a second with how much mana Albion just flashed in anger, she felt a hint of fear with how terrifying his body mana was. It wasn't controlled, it didn't have technique behind it. It was violent like a roaring flame. Albions large source of mana for his age and level fuelling the flames of his skill. She realised he wasn't weak. He was strong.

Albion: You just keep yapping and yapping! I'm honestly thinking of summoning an uncontracted tentacle pit and throwing you in it. {I'd never actually do that but still!}

Julie took a couple more steps back and gulped. It was impossible not to know what he meant. Everyone in the school knew Albion had wandered into the red-light district. Everyone had very different opinions and reactions.

Julie: You… YOU… YOU WOULDN'T DARE! {HE'S A SAVAGE OF A COMMONER! I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE HE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS ONE AS WORTHY!}

Albion created a magic circle in front of him. One that did absolutely nothing. But it looked complex. Threatening for anyone who didn't know much or any magic.

Albion: Try me. {Please don't.}

Julie looked at Albion's glaring eyes. Behind them just secretly begging her to leave him alone so he could get back to training. Julie too glared at him but couldn't help but look at the magic circle. Gulping.

Julie: Fine! BUT THIS ISN'T OVER! I HAVE STILL YET TO SEE IF YOU'RE WORTHY!

Julie stormed off as Albion flicked his right hand and the magic circle disappeared.

Albion: Now where was I?… Damn it! I lost that feeling! I was emptying my mind and I had this feeling… but poof, some jackass ruined it. *Tsk* *Sigh* I could ask Mum for meditation advice. She has a title for it.

Albion was standing there as he spoke to himself. Wondering what he could only assume was a near breakthrough. He didn't know. A warm feeling appeared and got snuffed out inside of him. He could only ask for advice on how to get it back.

Albion: Maybe Sylvia would know some meditation. Or something to do with it at least. Though she was busy today with paperwork. I should probably ask later.

Suddenly a man appeared in front of Albion just as Albion was about to walk off for the day. The principal.

Veldris: What do you know of Sylvia? You speak as if you're close.

Albion could only look at the old man. Completely surprised by his sudden appearance.

Albion: {WHAT THE HELL! HE NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK!} I guess I know a bit. I'm her disciple and friend.

Veldris: She's taken on someone el… did you just say, friend?

Veldris glared at Albion as he looked at the old man confused.

Albion: {Why can't this old fart just leave like the wind already.} Yes. Why do you want to know though?

Veldris: {Hmmmm. She's taken on a disciple that's also her friend. Heart did tell me this commoner was an elf and dragon as well as some other things that have escaped me at the moment. What was it again… part orc… and two other things. Did she see that much potential in him though?} What class are you in for magic?

Albion: Class S. {Well technically I'm more of a teacher now.}

Veldris: There is no class S. There are no class S in any study in this school.

Albion: She said that class A didn't suit me because of how fast I absorb knowledge. So she decided I didn't need to attend classes like the rest did and instead, I got personal training and can help teach. Thinking I may develop more if I learn in a different aspect. {My god! I want to punch his stupid face right now! He threatened my family… I think I should do it. Should I?}

Veldris just stared at Albion as they both ended up staring at each other.

Veldris: {SHE'S LETTING A STUDENT TEACH?! No… she made a new class for him without my permission? She usually does everything I say though, asking me before doing. What is this kid to her? Did she see that much talent in him?} Hmmm. Ok.

Veldris disappeared right before Albion's eyes. Leaving him very confused. Missing the opportunity to sucker punch him in the face as payback for threatening his family.

Albion: I guess I'll just go back for a shower.

Lily appeared over his left shoulder. Then floating over as she stood next to him

Lily: Can I clean you?

Albion: NOPE! I'm getting older now.

Lily: Awwww. You secretly liked it when I cleaned you though.

Albion: N-N-NO I DIDN'T!

Lily: The blush would say otherwise.

Lily gave a small giggle. As she followed Albion quickly running away. Everyone on the training ground looking at Albion as he seemingly spoke to himself.
