Harper was making an ambitiously expansive game, a new type of game with more options than the basic hack-and-slash, where exploration and cleverness were a legitimate course of action, not an extra-hard mode. But he died before he could complete his project. Only to be reborn in that world, as a normal person. Now he is in the world that he created and realizes that he knows things no one else knows, secrets only he knows. Harper sets off to find some of these secrets, wanting to make sure that he has the power to ensure that his world remains pure, that no one will have the power to ruin it like other games. And if the only way to do that is for him to get himself enough magic and mystical artifacts that he can determine the future of the world, then so be it. It wouldn’t be conquest if it was for a good cause. Right?

I dont think I noticed the tension of traveling with Orion and his cronies, but once we head out of the little town, its like a weight falls away from all three of us. We have supplies  I spent my last gold and silver on a bow and arrows of my own  and we have a destination to get to, but we dont have any arrogant jerks looking down on us or going ahead and doing ill-advised things without caring about anyone elses opinion.


So where are we going? Petra asks once we are well and truly away from the dungeon entrance and its surrounding town, when she decides that it is safe to talk.


The lost city of Jyger-Te, I say. There are a bunch of undead that spawn there at night. Good for experience but not loot. But more importantly, theres the Jyger-Te dungeon. It starts at level 23 and has seven level jumps between floors. But well have to find the entrance, which wont be easy  its been sealed off for a long time.
