Harper was making an ambitiously expansive game, a new type of game with more options than the basic hack-and-slash, where exploration and cleverness were a legitimate course of action, not an extra-hard mode. But he died before he could complete his project. Only to be reborn in that world, as a normal person. Now he is in the world that he created and realizes that he knows things no one else knows, secrets only he knows. Harper sets off to find some of these secrets, wanting to make sure that he has the power to ensure that his world remains pure, that no one will have the power to ruin it like other games. And if the only way to do that is for him to get himself enough magic and mystical artifacts that he can determine the future of the world, then so be it. It wouldn’t be conquest if it was for a good cause. Right?

I cast Daze on the Wight Lord, and he stops moving. I get the feeling that I dont have the full five minutes of duration, so I dont waste any time at all. I kick Petras sword toward her and more or less tackle Daniel off the weapon, pulling the sword back through his stomach and out the front before casting Regeneration on him. I dont need to refill his health, but Im hoping I can at least stop him from bleeding out. Bleed effects are supposed to stop as soon as you get healing.


I can hear Petra getting groggily to her feet as I focus on Daniel, healing him two points every second, waiting for him to either push me away or for me to hear the Wight Lord start to move again.


Daniel looks at me in surprise as the pain starts to clear from his face. Then he turns his eyes over my shoulder. I know he isnt ignoring me; hes focusing on the enemy. Which is what he should be doing.
