Chapter 38

Hearing those two words leave He Long's lips, stiffened Ming Chen's entire body, his brain had suddenly stopped working, he left like the air within the room had suddenly disappeared. Ming Chen stood stiff and didn't realise that the man had already taken him to the sofa and sat him down. 

"Zhao Yang", hearing this name again, Ming Chen finally came back to his sense and looked at He Long with a particular stare. Ming Chen could immediately see the look of longing and sadness in He Long's eyes. 

"Li Jun", Ming Chen said, as tears dwelled in his eyes. He could briefly see He Long nodding his head. Ming Chen couldn't believe it, no, rather his heart couldn't believe it. He saw the love of his life Li Jun die to protect him and yet here he was, sitting next to him. He didn't look the same yet there was a sense of familiarity. 

"Li Jun is that really you", he asked again, he needed the reassurance that Li Jun was with him right now, the Li Jun whom he had spent years loving and longing for, the Li Jun who was going to be the father of his kids and that Li Jun who had made him the happiest man in the world and created fond memories with. 

"Yes, its me Li Jun, Zhao Yang, do you have any idea how much I held back, how many years I had waited for you and how much I missed you", He Long said as he engulfed Ming Chen into a hug, it was desperate, as if, if he were to let him loose in the slightest, Ming Chen will go away again.

Ming Chen also hugged him back tightly, he didn't want to let him go, he allowed Li Jun to leave from his life once and that broke him, now he would never let him go no matter what. The reunited couple stayed in each other's arms for some time. Ming Chen broke free from the hug, although he struggled a bit, but he was able to move away from him. He Long looked like a sad puppy who had just been abandoned once Ming Chen moved away. 

"How are you able to be here, although I'm happy you are here by my side, I still can't understand it", Ming Chen said as he placed a hand on, He Long's cheeks. He Long explained everything from the beginning. 

Back in the Demon Kingdom, after he had died, he woke up to light, an empty place with nothing much light. There was no darkness, there was no people, tress, birds. Just light, he walked aimlessly. There was no daytime or night-time, there was no way of tracking time too, he walked and walked. He had probably walked, days, weeks, months if not years upon years. The place he was at was something beyond the human world. He didn't feel, hungry or thirsty nor did he feel tired. For unknown amount of time, he had walked and he suddenly found a door. Although, he ran towards that door, it keep moving further and further, but he didn't give up. 

He tried relentlessly, until one day he was finally able to catch up with the door. He had thought that it would lead him back to the Demon Kingdom, but turned out that it was somewhere completely different. It was a world Zhao Yang had described to him, the world where Zhao Yang, or rather Ming Chen was from. Ming Chen had told Li Jun everything about his first life, his family, his world, and his death. Li Jun had woken up in the body of 18 year old He Long.

It was a completely different world from his own, technology, moving carriages and tall buildings that reach way up high in the sky. It was hard for Li Jun, but when he thought that Ming Chen was in the same world as him, he tried his best to fit in. It helped having parents who were kind and understanding. In 2 years', time, 20 year old Li Jun had fully integrated into the modern world, he also grew accustomed to being called He Long. 

It was also around this time that he finally had the chance to meet Ming Chen again. The most favoured grandson of the head of Ming family Ming Chen's 13th birthday was coming up. The powerfully He family were naturally invited, He Long couldn't sleep that night thinking about reuniting with Ming Chen, but when he had arrived, he had come to the realisation that he was not the Ming Chen he knew. 

When he had greeted the young Ming Chen, He Long had called him Zhao Yang to see how he would react by, it seemed that Ming Chen had no memories of it. He Long felt devastated, but there was nothing he could do. He felt happy just to watch Ming Chen from the side-line and keep him safe from his evil family members. As long as he knew that Ming Chen was safe, he was happy. 

Many years had passed and He Long had felt like giving up on Ming Chen, but Ming Chen suddenly moved away from his family and found a job in a children's hospital. He Long knew all the life events of Ming Chen until he was 25, the age of his death. At 21 he was meant to be working in his grandfathers hospital and publishing research articles, but he was acting completely different from what he was originally meant to be. He Long had a feeling that his Ming Chen was back. So when he was looking for apartments, He Long secretly helped him find one. 

Even though Ming Chen was acting different, He Long couldn't be 100% sure that Ming Chen was really the same one as the one in Demon Kingdom. However, when his nephew had been hospitalized, he requested for Ming Chen to be the one to look after him. When he saw him that day, he immediately that he was his Ming Chen, the man he was been waiting for, the person he yearns for. 

When Ming Chen had come into the office to take his blood and was able to leave. He Long, felt great distress, the thought of Ming Chen leaving him all alone made his heart ache. 10 years he waited for him, 10 years he cried for him, 10 years his lover for him had never disappeared and 10 years more he was willing to wait if his Ming Chen hadn't come back. 

But, here he was his Ming Chen, right in front of him, he didn't want to push everything onto him but he couldn't bare to wait any longer. He Long told everything to Ming Chen from the beginning to the end. 

Ming Chen was now facing He Long, his eyes filled with tears. He had no idea He Long went through so much or how much he suffered through out these 10 years. Ming Chens heart ached for his lover. He Long wiped the tears steaming down Ming Chen's face. He Long missed Ming Chen so much he didn't mind the quietness that engulfed them. Just having Ming Chen right by his side made him happy and his heart feel ease. His Ming Chen is finally by his side, he can now love him, care for him and help him get revenge on those bastards in the Ming family that hurt him.
