Chapter 39

It wasn't known just how long the two reunited lovers had spent just embraced in each other arms but the sun had risen for a new day and although neither of them slept, they didn't look nor feel tired. Maybe it was the power of rekindled love that kept them energised. 

Although, it pained Ming Chen to leave He Long, who also felt reluctant to let Ming Chen go, Ming Chen had to leave to give the blood sample. He was now more determined to find out what exactly happened. This matter involved his lover as well as his family members. 

Thinking about family, Ming Chen couldn't help but blush in embarrassment. When he saw Ms Fang holding, He Long's arms, he had unknowingly felt jealous. 'To think I felt jealous of his cousin', Ming Chen thought to himself. Something like this had never happened before, but then again when He Long was Li Jun, he was an only child and so were his parents. He didn't have any cousins or relatives that Ming Chen could feel jealous of. Ming Chen put all the thoughts about the matter side, it would be something he took to the grave with him. If He Long found out, he wouldn't be able to live to see another day with He Long's non-stop teasing. 

Due to the matter concerning He Long, Ming Chen personally went to his third uncles lab to get the results of the blood test. When Ming Chen saw the results from both the blood test, he felt a sudden jolt in his heart. Even though nearly 2 months had passed, there were still some traches of it in their blood stream. Ming Chen felt frightened at the thought. 

"Chen'er, what's the matter. Why do you look so pale? Are you not feeling well", Ming Jiang, Ming Chen's third uncle asked him with a concerned look on his face. His third uncle had always been the quite type and excluded himself from the family unless it had something to do with him or his grandmother. His third uncle seem to dislike his two older brothers, so when he gotten married, within the first month he had moved away to his own place with his wife. 

"Thank you for your concern, but I'm fine uncle", Ming Chen said not wanting to worry his uncle. Whenever it came to Ming Chen his uncle had always been the one to worry the most. Even his grandfather was baffled by the amount of concern his third uncle showed him. He was too, but he found out the real reason in his first life after his death. 

Truth be told, he didn't immediately leave from his first world after his death. This was something he hadn't told anything not even He Long or rather Li Jun. Truthfully, he didn't see a point. At first, he couldn't come to the reality that he was dead, much less that it was his family that killed him. By the time they found out, he didn't even have a body to bury, so they instead buried an empty coffin. Everyone was there and yet the only people that were crying were his third uncle and his family. His own father didn't shed a single tear, much less expected from his step mother. At that, he didn't think it was because they were part of his dead, he made the assumption that they simply disliked him so much they dare not to shed tears for him. His second uncle and his family were no better, they left early from the funeral service, followed by his father and stepmother. His younger brothers didn't even show up, Ming Chen felt happy they didn't.

The thought of them having the nerve to attend made his blood boil. The only people that stayed behind was his third uncle and third aunt. His uncle had wept next to his grave with such heartbreak, as if he had lost his own child. 

"Chen'er, how could you leave this world so early, how can I answer to your mother, how can I face her and tell her that I failed to protect her child even though I promised", hearing his third uncle, Ming Chen now somewhat understood why his third uncle care so much for him, but a simple promise cant be enough for them to care about him can it. 

"Chen'er, we owe your mother so much, if she hadn't risked her health to help me when I was pregnant with Huifang, maybe she would still be alive today. Its all our fault, your mother's death was our fault. You died because we couldn't take care of you. I'm sorry Chen'er, please forgive us", his third aunt cried, tears streaming down her face. She and third uncle had kneeled down kowtowed to his grave. 

Maybe because they felt about what happened, his third aunt had told everything from the beginning. When his third aunt was pregnant with his older cousin, she was involved in an accident and had lost a lot of blood. Unfortunately, there was no blood left that was the same type as his third aunts. When his mother found out about this she was still in the early stages of her pregnancy. His mother had the same blood type as his third aunt and went to the hospital to donate her blood. 

His mother was already weak from before and after donating such large amount of blood, made her health deteriorate even more. His grandfather had told him once time when he got drunk that during the time his mother was pregnant with him, she had been hospitalized multiple time. She was even told by the doctors to abort the baby, otherwise she will risk her life. However, his mother was a stubborn woman and refused to abort, insisting on keeping the baby. In the end, she died after giving birth to him. 

His mother probably knew that she would lose her life if she gave birth to his, but she still insisted. It was probably during that time that she made his third uncle and aunt promise to take care of him and look after him. 

He never met his mother, but from what his grandfather told him, his mother seemed like an amazing woman. She was kind and caring. She was involved in many charities. His mother had invested a large sum of money to a new orphanage foundation after she had found out she was pregnant with him. He truly wished he had met her at least once during his life, so he can thank her for everything she has done for him. 

Ming Chen stayed in the lab with his third uncle and chatted with him for a bit. His uncle asked him about his new place and his work. He told Ming Chen that if he ever needed any help to come to him and that he will always be there to help him with anything that he might need. Ming Chen was more than happy that his uncle was so kind to him, even if it was just because of a promise he made to his mother. His uncle always looked at him lovingly as if he were his own child. Knowing that there was someone who always had his back, Ming Chen felt happy.
