Chapter 47

"I want you to meet my parents", currently Ming Chen and He Long were at a restaurant having a date night and hearing what He Long said, Ming Chen nearly chocked on his wine. 

"So-o soon", Ming Chen said trying to calm his heart down. 

"So soon? We have known each other for so long and even been married, how can you say its too soon", He Long said feeling upset at the thought that Ming Chen doesn't want to meet his parents. Ming Chen looked at He Long and knew what he was thinking.

"Its not that I don't to meet your parents but its just that in this life we have only known each other for less than 2 months, wont your parents become suspicious", Ming Chen enquired, trying to reason with He Long. 

"They wont", He Long replied back really quickly without hesitation. 

Ming Chen was left speechless by this man, so speechless that he doesn't even know what to say anymore. The entire dinner was eaten in silence, occasionally He Long would look at Ming Chen trying to see if he had anything to say, but once he sees that he doesn't want to say anything, He Long returned back to eating too. 

The ride home was also quite, Ming Chen didn't say much as he was deep in thought and He Long didn't want to say anything just in case he angered Ming Chen. He Long regretted even mentioning it, he didn't want to force Ming Chen to meet his parents but he was hoping to make his relationship with Ming Chen official and get blessing from his parents. 

The two of them entered Ming Chens apartment and sleep in silence. The next day, He Long woke up late, he had originally taken the day off from work because his parents were coming back from their millionth honeymoon and wanted to introduce Ming Chen to them but, seeing as Ming Chen didn't want to he didn't force it on him either. 

He Long who had just gotten up from his sleep was thinking about sleeping again when he the door to the bedroom was burst open.

"Your still sleeping?", Ming Chen asked in a hurried tone. Its was already 11o'clock and He Long was still sleeping. 

"What's wrong, we don't have anything planned, what's the rush?", He long said as he was about to pull the duvet over his body and go back to bed. Ming Chen pulled the duvet off He Long kicked him lightly off the bed. 

"So you don't want me to meet your parents", Ming Chen asked with his arms crossed. He Long who was playing dead of the floor suddenly jumped up in front of Ming Chen.

"Your going to meet my parents?", He Long asked, not being able to contain his excitement. Ming Chen nodded, and He Long jumped in happiness.

Ming Chen couldn't help but shake his head, this man is going to be 30 soon and still acts so childish sometimes, but he was happy seeing He Long happy. Ming Chen watched him run to the bathroom to freshen up. 

Ming Chen got breakfast ready first before changing into some more decent looking clothes that are suitable to wear when meeting your partners parents. He Long came out of the room and when he saw the large amounts of bag on the sofa and coffee table, he couldn't help but question Ming Chen. 

"What are all these bags for?", He Long asked pointing at the bags. 

"Oh they are gifts for your parents", Ming Chen said casually. He Long went by the bags and looked inside. It was clothes or make up or anything like that but it was filled with boxes of different sizes. He Long opened one and thought he could faint. 

It was a well preserved ginseng, although when he was Li Jun he has seem million, finding them in the modern times was rare especially the ones that are over 100 years old. 

"How old is this ginseng?", He Long asked out of pure curiosity.

"That one is over 500 years old, it was given to our ancestors by the emperor", Ming Chen said every so casually. He Long was shocked, his wifey is giving away such a rare treasure. He truly loved and valued him, He Long felt like crying. He Long closed the box and went and hugged Ming Chen. 

"Stop messing around and eat your breakfast", He Long moved to the seat in a flash as to no anger his wifey on this day otherwise he might change his mind about meeting his parents. 

He Long sent a text to his parents to let them know he will be returning to the He mansion to visit them and that there will be a special person coming with him. The two of them had breakfast and carefully put the bags in the back of the car and headed for the He mansion. 

During the ride, Ming Chen chewed on gum, drank calming tea and tried listening to relaxing music. He Long could tell that Ming Chen was nervous. He placed his hand on Ming Chen's things and gave a squeeze of reassurance. Ming Chen felt a lot more relaxed now than he was before. 

Ming Chen felt relaxed through out the car ride, that was until the car started heading into the drive way of the He family mansion. He Long saw that Ming Chen was staring to feel nervous again and comforted him. An middle aged man came out from the from the front door and greeted He Long and him before getting the stuff from the car. 

"That butler Yi, he takes care and manages the house", hearing He Long, Ming Chen greeted butler Yi. He Long guided Ming Chen inside the house and into the living room where his parents were sat down and drinking tea.
