Worried that once divorced she would be forced to take care of two children on her own without support, Wang Jia, the wife of Grandpa Ming, drugged him and got pregnant with Ming Jiang. Grandpa Ming had no choice but to take responsibility for the now pregnant Wang Jia, but he never cared for the two other children that weren't his. This meant that Ming Jiang was his only son and the true heir to the Ming family, not Ming Yue or Ming Shen. Hence, Grandpa Ming never gave the two hope that they would one day become the Ming head. 

Wang Jia had become ill after giving birth to Ming Jiang, but Grandpa Ming never cared for her, and soon she passed away. Grandpa Ming was friends with Jing Xiao's father and had intended for her to marry his only son Ming Jiang, but he couldn't control other people's fate or who they fall in love with. 

He had allowed Ming Yue to marry Jing Xiao as the two seemed to be madly in love, but who would have thought that Ming Yue would end up cheating on her and that his mistress, Wu Niu, would end up causing her to have a miscarriage. Jing Xiao found out about their affair and wanted to get revenge on them, but she wasn't able to do anything. 

At that time, Grandpa got Ming Jiang to donate some of his sperm in case he were to have an accident. In reality, Grandpa Ming had asked so that Jing Xiao could be artificially inseminated; that was how Ming Chen ended up being born. Jing Xiao felt guilty and indebted to Ming Jiang, so when their daughter was in trouble, she risked her life to pay him back. 

The letters in Grandpa Ming's hand were letters from Jing Xiao and evidence that Wu Niu had caused her miscarriage and the affair between her and Ming Yue. 

When the truth was revealed, it felt like the sky was falling on everyone in the room. This shock was especially apparent for Ming Yue and Ming Shen, who found out that they aren't the blood of the head of the Ming family but the result of an affair their mother had. 

"As the truth has been revealed, Ming Yue and Ming Shen will officially be removed from my family line and instead go back to their real family line. Ming Jiang will be my next heir, and as for Ming Chen, he is the blood of the Ming family and won't be removed from the family tree. As for the offspring of both Ming Yue and Ming Shen, they will also be moved back into their original family line," Grandpa Ming said before getting up and leaving. 

Ming Chen was still in a daze about everything he had just heard. He was a Ming family child, but his father wasn't his actual father; instead, it's his third uncle who is his father. While Ming Chen was trying to take in all the information, Ming Yue suddenly got up from the floor and threw himself at the feet of Grandpa Ming. 

"Father, this can't be true, it's all a lie, right? I'm your son, your first and oldest son. You can't do this to me," Ming Yue said as he wept and pleaded with Grandpa Ming. Grandpa Ming gave him a look of disgust and kicked Ming Yue away from his feet.
