Ji Mingming didn't notice the "exchange" of gazes between the two men. Seeing her older brother, she was obviously happy and laughed, "Qi Yue, you don't know, my elder brother is an elite among the elites in the military. Although he's only a major now, he's been in the army for ten years. He is the top instructor of Blue Dragon Special Forces, the most elite unit in the Yan Huang Republic. The high-ranking officers often say he's an indispensable talent in the military. His name also contains the character De, everyone calls him Indispensable-De. Isn't it true, Indispensable-De Big bro?"

Ji De laughed, "That's just the superior officers taking care of me, little sister. Why are you saying all this in front of others?"

Qi Yue thought to himself, what Indispensable-De? He's clearly lacking in virtue.

Ji De drove very fast and was extremely skillful. Despite his speed, it was very stable and didn't give one a sense of fear. In this respect, he was obviously a better driver than the dominant Hai Ruyue.

The off-road vehicle drove smoothly. Mingming talked and laughed with Ji De along the way. Qi Yue sat silently in the spacious back seat. He increasingly realized that if a person doesn't have real capabilities, they will indeed be looked down upon. To earn others' respect, one has to work hard continuously.

About forty minutes later, Ji De stopped in front of a residential complex. Two armed soldiers stood guard at the entrance. They looked at Ji De's license plate and let them pass. By this time, even if Qi Yue was slow, he knew that Mingming must have grown up in a military family.

The residential complex looked plain with only four or five buildings, each having eighteen floors. Although the complex wasn't luxurious, it was beautifully landscaped, with green spaces covering more than seventy percent of the area. Ji De found a spot to park the car by the road, then the three of them got out. Mingming, still excited, pulled Qi Yue over and said, "Look, this is my home."

Seeing his sister pulling Qi Yue's sleeve, Ji De frowned slightly and said, "Let's go. Let's hurry up." Saying this, he rapidly pressed dozens of numbers on the closest door to the car. The door opened immediately. As soon as they entered the building, Qi Yue felt something was strange about the place but he couldn't pinpoint exactly what.

The three of them took the elevator up to the eleventh floor. Upon stepping out, Qi Yue noticed that this floor only had one apartment, with the letter "A" gilded on its door. To the right of the door was another keypad. Ji De pressed a few keys again, and the door opened naturally. Mingming laughed and said, "After you, Qi Yue. You're a rare visitor to our home."

As Qi Yue stepped through the door, he was taken aback. It was a fifty-square-meter hall with black and white marble on the floor. A fifty-inch TV was on one wall, and black sofas were arranged in two semi-circles, giving off a slightly somber ambiance. What a large house! It seemed that the entire floor belonged to Mingming's home.

"Oh, who's back?" A deep, magnetic voice sounded. From the hallway adjacent to the main hall, an old man of about 1.8 meters in height emerged. The old man appeared to be around sixty years old, his face beaming with health, wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses and holding a newspaper, apparently reading. Dressed casually, the old man had an ordinary appearance with nothing extraordinary to take note of. However, Qi Yue still perceived a peculiar charisma in him - the bearing of a military commander.

"Dad." Mingming and Ji De said almost simultaneously. The old man chuckled, "So my darling daughter is back. Oh, we have a guest." He lifted his head, and his gaze landed precisely on Qi Yue's face. His deep, wise eyes, resembling a profound, icy abyss, passed over Qi Yue briefly. Yet, during that fleeting moment, Qi Yue perceived a myriad of things he couldn't describe from his gaze. Perhaps due to a pull on his vitality, he felt a warm sensation on his chest and back, and an invisible aura exuded from him. This warmth was something Qi Yue recognized well - it was the feeling he got when the Kirin Pattern surfaced. It shocked him that a mere glance from the seemingly ordinary old man in front of him could stimulate his Kirin Breath. Could it be that he needed to resist it?

While Qi Yue was shocked, the old man was equally surprised. When he looked at Qi Yue, he noticed an indescribable aura on this youth who appeared to be around the same age as his daughter. Despite having met countless people, this was the first time he had encountered such an aura. After a brief consideration, he realized, it was the aura of a king - a leader. And he had only seen a similar aura in one of his old friends before. What an exceptional young man.

"Nice to meet you, uncle." Qi Yue showed none of his usual roguish charm, instead greeting the old man respectfully.

The old man smiled faintly and said, "Please sit. Are you Ji De's friend, or Mingming's friend?"

"He's Mingming's friend." Ji De, who had previously radiated an imposing aura, had visibly toned it down after meeting the old man and stood dutifully at the side, in perfect military posture, respectfully speaking.

A flicker of interest passed the old man's eyes as he glanced at his daughter. Mingming, on one side pulling her father's hand, supplemented, "Dad, we're just ordinary friends. Do you remember Master Zageru? Qi Yue is someone Master Zageru particularly values."

The old man expressed a hint of surprise, "Oh? So, he's a person that the Master values; he could hardly be considered an outsider then. You both rarely come back. Sit, let's chat for a while."

Only after the old man was seated did Qi Yue and the siblings, Ji De, take their respective seats. The old man removed his glasses, put the newspaper aside, and asked Ji De, "Have you clarified everything with the Blue Dragon Special Forces?"

Ji De kept the same perfect posture whether sitting or standing, respectfully saying, "Father, I have explained everything clearly, waiting for the commander's orders at any time."

The old man nodded, "That's fine, you can report in tomorrow. I will call them first."

"Father, my brother just came back home after such difficulty, couldn't you have him stay at home for a few more days? We want to show our filial piety too." Mingming said somewhat resentfully.

The old man smiled lightly, "He is different from you. He is a soldier. As a soldier, he must always be ready to be dispatched and appear at his post at the fastest speed. This applies to everyone, no matter their rank. Otherwise, how can we uphold the military's majesty? Doing his job well is the best way to show filial piety to me."

Ji De abruptly stood up and saluted in a military fashion, "Yes, Commander, I will report in tomorrow. The military is where I belong."

The old man smiled slightly, "That's enough, there's no need for that at home. Rest well today. Oh, by the way, I didn't ask where Qi Yue is studying?"

The old man was very polite, but his words still gave Qi Yue an invisible pressure. He quickly answered, "I'm just like Mingming, it is my first year at Qingbei University."

The old man nodded, smiling, "Qingbei is a good place, it has provided our country with many talents. Judging by your accent, you are from the Capital City."

Qi Yue nodded, "Yes, I grew up in Jing Shan District. Uncle, you can just call me by my name."

Mingming teased, "Oh, who would have thought! When did you become so polite, Qi Yue?"

The old man said, "Mingming, be respectful. Qi Yue, you are the first boy Mingming has brought back home. The young gentleman is very good, study well at Qingbei. As long as you can contribute to the country in a position suitable for yourself in the future."

Mingming laughed, "Father, just a moment ago you said home was not a military base, why is your sermon coming home now?"

The old man sighed helplessly, "You, my silly girl! Alright, let's not talk about national affairs. How are your studies at Qingbei University?"

Mingming replied, "I am your daughter, could I be lacking? I am a brilliant language student."

The old man turned to Qi Yue, "What are you studying?"

Qi Yue replied awkwardly, "I am studying philosophy."

The old man was slightly taken aback, "Philosophy? So you plan on becoming a teacher in the future?" Ji De, sitting beside, almost burst into laughter when he heard Qi Yue was studying philosophy. Although he had never attended a regular university, he knew that the philosophy department commonly had the worst prospects.

Qi Yue scratched his head, "I don't know what I want to do in the future. For now, I can only take it one step at a time."
