Chapter 102

-POV Paxter Redwyne-

"The Greyjoy fleet has managed to land," I thought, feeling a bit of apprehension.

"The king is stronger than any of us," said Corian, the leader of the fifth legion.

I could tell he was trying to reassure me, but such words did little to comfort me since I had placed many of my chips in this campaign and taken great risks.

I had bypassed the chain of vassalage to respond directly to the king's call without discussing it with Aunt Olenna beforehand, and her idiot son.

I turned to my sailors and shouted, "THE IRONBORN HAVE ALREADY LANDED, SO SOUND THE WAR DRUMS AND ROW, YOU LAZY BUNCH, THE KING NEEDS US!"

---

-POV Theon Greyjoy-

Hearing the drums, I finally understood without needing to turn back what he had planned: a pincer attack from the sea and the land.

We were trapped between him and his navy.

I quickly thought and then I had an idea. I ran to my Uncle and said, "Uncle Victarion, I have an idea to win this victory. We just need to take our ships and then we'll face them at sea. We will have the advantage."

I didn't get an answer and followed my uncle's gaze. What I saw chilled my blood. Almost simultaneously, hundreds of fire meteors fell on our fleet concentrated in the port, vulnerable to any assault.

"It's over," I thought, feeling endless despair.

"I'm going to die here without having accomplished anything in my life for a crown that I wouldn't even touch and as a traitor in Robb's mind."

"Haha"

I turned my head to see who had completely lost their mind in the face of death and was surprised to find that it was my uncle who was laughing.

"hahaha...HAHAHAHAHAHA"

He started laughing softly, and then his laughter slowly turned into a mad laugh, and as if his laughter was contagious, his officers laughed in the same way.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA"

"You've gone mad," I said, seeing them all laugh like lunatics.

"You were raised by greenlanders, that's why you will never understand us. They think we fear death, but how could we fear death when we are already dead, WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE," he said, hitting his chest.

His men all shouted the same thing before following him and charging the beach: "WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE."

"Crazy bastards."

---

-POV MC-

"Damn, they must not get to their boats before the Redwyne fleet has completely taken the port and started to land," I thought, seeing Victarion lead his troops to the iron fleet.

"CAVALRY WITH ME," I said, drawing my sword.

The cavalry, already eager to fight and join the melee, immediately followed and joined Ghost and me to launch the counter-attack and mow down all the ironborn running towards the port unaware that we were going to attack them from behind.

As usual, Ghost and I quickly outpaced the cavalry led by Jaime. I closed my eyes and then entered Ghost's spirit.

My eyes turned white, but I didn't faint. Although I had become king, I never stopped learning and experimenting, which made me king so quickly...magic.

I continued to push the boundaries of my warging talent, discovering 4 tiers before reaching my level of skill. The first tier was unconscious dreaming, where a warg could see and feel everything their bonded animal experienced.

The second tier was conscious dreaming when a warg was aware of their power and understood through which animal they were seeing the world.

The third tier was the most complicated; it involved leaving one's body to take control of the animal, the warg took control and shared its senses with the animal's.

The fourth and final tier was a tier few wargs reached and involved leaving one's body while being aware of one's surroundings and managing to keep very light control over one's body.

I, on the other hand, had reached a new tier that gave me the ability to combine my senses with those of my animal and to combine everything, for example, my field of vision and Ghost's when I entered his spirit and shared his senses merged to form a field of vision composed like those of flies.

This allowed me to see the world in slow motion and over a larger area. I hadn't fully mastered this evolution of my power, but I used it because it was a matter of urgency.

I ordered Ghost to continue moving quickly while dodging soldiers and jumping on ruined houses to go faster, and we quickly caught up.

---

-POV 3rd Person-

"Watch out, the wolf is coming, the wolf is coming," shouted the ironborn, seeing Ghost jump from house to house while avoiding confrontation to cut off the ironborn running towards the iron fleet still in the port.

Some tried to stop the giant wolf by throwing axes or shooting arrows at him, but to no avail, and finally, the giant wolf landed in front of Victarion Greyjoy.

Victarion Greyjoy smiled and then said, "GET OFF YOUR MOUNT AND COME FIGHT, OR ARE YOU TOO AFRAID TO DO SO?"

To everyone's surprise, King Aegon jumped from his wolf and landed with nothing but a sword in hand. He looked indifferently at the thousands of ironborn in front of him still trapped in a straight line by the alleys of Lordsport and then said, "Your road ends here."

"Our road ends here, he says. Did you hear that bloody greenlander talking about us as if we were one of those damn servants, ONLY THE DROWNED GOD CAN DICTATE HIS WILL TO US, CHARGE TOWARDS THE IRON FLEET, WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE."

"WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE," they all said, charging at the king who simply took a defensive stance and waited for them to attack.

Once an ironborn was close enough, he made a swift movement with his sword that effortlessly severed the head of the first ironborn, and then he entered the melee alone against all.
