Three hours later, after saying a quick hello to everyone or having a short chat with them, he was holding Pinx, who was fast asleep, and Lynx, who had fallen asleep from drinking too much wine. He teleported to the flagship and put them both to bed. He looked at them, then teleported back to the planet. First, he gave Paul a communication crystal so he could talk to his father, then he went to several stores, and in the fourth store, Pinx was clinging to him again. She had the same tendency to sleep as he did. Lots of mini-naps, nothing to worry about. So he took the opportunity to buy her new clothes.
People stared at them both. Pinx because she looked like Pinx and Luke, because he had left his jacket on the ship, because Lynx had used it as a pillow.
He bought things that his mother had asked for, and his father too. Everything went into the nano bag. They visited several zoos so that Pinx could see the animals, he especially liked the tigers. He also visited Berta. When he bought cigarettes in a small shop, Pinx slept on his arm. The shop was surrounded by security forces.
He lit a cigarette as he came out, looked at the crowd.
As he looked at them, he remembered that he had told Alex that he wanted to give him the table. So he zapped away before she could react, appeared in Alex's living room, took the table out of the nanobag and set it up. Activated it to see if everything was all right, then he activated the filter systems in the system and connected the cities to the power grid. He went outside, his mother's house was gone, there was only lawn there, and where Liz's house should be, there was only lawn too.
He stood there and looked at the lawn, a car skidded to a halt. Bettina hastily got out.
"Cancel search, person found," she said into her radio.
Luke turned around.
She came closer, compared him to a photo on her cell phone, and sighed.
"You can't walk around like that."
"I paid for everything I bought."
"That's not the point, it's about the world. Two aliens are walking around all over the planet."
She came closer and looked at the snoring Pinx.
"She's really cute, where's her mother?"
"Sleeping off her drunk. She can't handle wine and emptied several bottles at the party."
Bettina looked from Pinx to him and then to her. Pinx started drooling on Luke's arm.
"So what are you doing here?"
"I'm shopping and showing Pinx a few things. She likes tigers."
"So you're making a mess while you shop?"
"What mess?"
Bettina rolled her eyes, whipped out her tablet, and opened the news page. Luke was everywhere with Pinx. Pinx's face was pixelated.
"That and the fact that they scream every time they look at freshly shot pictures and can't recognize your daughter."
Luke grinned and took a drag on his cigarette.
"No big deal to turn on the censorship mode."
"You make it so easy, just tell me. You disappear and everything falls apart, and then you reappear."
"Yeah?"
"The women are talking to Alex again, and I mean talking, not shouting or ignoring. He was on the moon when they kicked him out." 2 "She raised two fingers. 'For years we had to walk around with masks because the toxic waste kept growing, and then suddenly these cargo ships came and dumped it all. What actually happens to the garbage?'
"Ration bars for an energy race."
"Ah, damn it! "Yannet screamed.
"How long has that damn thing been standing here again?"
Again, a scream of pain sounded.
"Ah, she has found out that the original is resistant."
Bettina shook her head.
The sky rippled for a split second. Bettina looked at him in confusion.
"What..."
"I've turned on the filter systems, it'll take a few years, but by then the air will be clean, the ozone layer rebuilt, etc.". "
"What's he doing there, it's only been a few hours since he left!" Gitte from Alex's house keeps.
"So where can I get fresh cherries?"
Bettina blinked.
"I'll drive you there."
Luke got into the back seat of the car. He was driven to a market that was just opening and the traders unloaded their things. He got out, so did Bettina.
Luke walked past the stalls, stopped at a fruit stand and looked at the things.
The seller stared at Luke, froze, and knelt down in front of him.
Luke looked at him very questioningly, then looked at Bettina, who whipped out her buzzing cell phone and looked at it.
"Well, it looks like you got Janet all worked up at the table."
She turned the cell phone towards him, a new message had arrived.
"I have to say she's fast and very creative, even more creative than the Empress."
"Who?" Bettina asked.
"You'll see, she has the same keen sense as Alex."
"He doesn't have any," she looked at him.
"Please come up. I want to buy cherries and berries from you."
The man came up slowly.
Luke bought several kilos of fruit, which he put in a stasis container and then put in the nano bag.
Bettina then drove him to the official teleporter to the moon.
Luke looked out the window.
"Is there a reason why there are so many soldiers here?"
"Because of you?" he was asked from the front.
"Ah..."
"Why did you buy so much fruit?"
Pinx was still snoring deeply, and he stroked her hair.
"Well, let's just say that when I first stood before the Empress, she thought I was a cute pet. Her species produces very few females, so they're more valuable."
"Brr, that reminds me of a tribe in Africa long ago."
He grinned.
"Something like that. They're no better than the others. Ned's race isn't any better either, they've bred the males to be broken."
"I read that in the guidebook, is there more detailed information on that at some point?"
Luke looked up.
"Yes."
"So, according to the guide, the Empress is a female playboy with a huge harem, yes?"
"Yep. She always picks one depending on her mood. Some just for mating attempts. I think she's had a thousand abortions because it was a boy."
"And what did you do?"
"I slipped in, first contact etc., made senseless bets. Then honorary admission to the guard etc. She wasn't interested at first, but the royal houses in the world whispered and whispered. She then learned that I did jobs for Ned and for Lynx. Especially for Lynx, since both are cousins by family. So she decided to lock me in a gilded cage.
"And then?"
"I drifted with her and since she hadn't reckoned with some positions, she was at her wit's end and forgot to give the commands and I took off. But in her mind, I'm her property. So, last week I was supposed to go back to her. But I was in a hurry because Pinx had to go for a checkup.
So, after so many years, I did the bag of tricks with the holds again. Which led to her second step and got more momentum and since the clock didn't say time. Well, she was quick and all, if I hadn't had the mechanics, a lot would have been broken. "
Bettina looked at him through the rearview mirror.
"Ever heard of contraception?"
"Yeah, but when a woman with four arms and heat-generating genitals dissolves the condom and the blockades no longer work."
"Why?"
"The genetic machine doesn't know where to insert it, I've appropriated too much."
She stopped and turned to him.
"So let me get this right, you've impregnated an empress?"
"It's not the first time."
She looked at him sternly.
"What? Nad is the next monarch and Lynx, well, her family is the leader of their kind, so...
"
"But don't the descendants of Nad ignore their creator?"
"Yes, that's good, but the Empress... when young will I be out of the woods. "
"But you'll have a girl. Your family tradition, something Earl is right about.
"Unfortunately..."
Luke got out.
Rows of soldiers took up position, a podium had been set up, with Jannet standing at it with a nasty smile. The press was standing in front of it.
"Good luck," Bettina said, and she drove off.
Luke walked unhurriedly towards the podium, behind him something thundered and the ground shook. Luke looked behind him.
In his mind, he thought that he was in deep shit.
Three soldiers of the Empress's race had landed with a crash. They were around 2.25 meters tall, four-armed bodybuilders in armored battle suits. The leader flipped back his helmet, revealing a bald, bright red human head.
"No stops, we're going directly to the palace. We know your tendency for detours."
"Yes, yes, I still have to do that over there."
"Hmph," he replied.
Luke continued, followed by the soldiers.
He reached the podium.
"Why the soldiers?" asked Jannet.
"This is the elite guard of the empress's palace, and I see they've also sent the old guard."
The leader of the guard stood a short way behind Luke.
Luke stepped onto the podium, the press fell silent, and looked at Pinx, who turned away. Lynx emerged somewhat hungover.
"I'll take her, come on honey."
Pinx pressed herself against Lynx.
Luke lit a fag and put his hands on the podium.
"Any questions?"
A babble of voices sounded.
"If everyone talks at once, I can't answer. So one at a time."
They fell silent and looked at Seitig.
"The press said that you were arrested because of a conspiracy on Mars."
"Ah, Mars, yes. You were a witness, unfortunately for all of us, to a subsequent theater piece to draw Mars out of hiding.
It was not apparent that they had to suffer so much, for which I would like to apologize. But I can assure them that Mars will no longer cause any problems and that they, as citizens, no longer have to fear being hit by Martian bioweapons or having toxic waste near them. "
He took a drag on the cigarette.
"As you know, this was removed and taken to recycling plants, and the eco-power plants and filter systems that were under construction were finally completed and put into operation. So that the old power plants can be dismantled."
"What do you mean, Mars won't be a problem anymore?"
"The galactic empire was kind enough to cooperate and help our planet.
Now that the moon has more colonies, filter systems are being built on Mars so that we can mine the resources there. You see, we are on the right track. Those who have lost their jobs in recent years. New ones are being created.
I want to build a spaceport on the site where the Earth fleet is, so that we, you and I can get into space more easily, but also to receive other species. We are not alone."
"Hmph," came from behind him.
"Any more questions?"
More chatter, then silence.
"The message said that they were transported into the past in the transporter accident."
"Ah yes. The teleporter. You see, the other species use stored biodata to transport themselves. What they know is also used to get to the moon. The teleporter in the lab now. They assumed that you could get around without something like that. Yes that's right, that's why I'm not trying to look like I did before the accident."
"What did you do?"
"What do you mean?"
"No, what have they done in the past and the distant past?"
"Ah, you mean that, the end of the Bronze Age, for example."
They looked at him in disbelief.
He pulled on his fag.
"What about the aliens? And the uprisings in some cities?"
"Well, both are easy to answer. I'm expected for talks in the Galactic Empire. That's why they sent someone. And the uprisings, why are they happening again?"
"The crop failures, the occupation of the power plants..." Jannet replied coolly.
"Oh, thank you."
He tapped his finger on the podium.
"They should come to the community centers, they get food there. I ask them, it's nice that they all like the new things now, what's available to eat, but give as much of the old, familiar things. In my absence, my representative," he waved his arm and pointed at Jannet, who looked at him in horror, "will make sure that the projects are carried out."
"What does that mean?"
Lynx looked at him questioningly.
"As you all know, I have been too close to my grandfather when it comes to women and they also all know that I have allowed other marriages in addition to the normal one.
I showed my offspring the planet and before you ask how I managed it.
I had to undergo a few surgeries. Because of an accident with animals on another planet and then to keep my eyesight. The crystals in my eyes started to affect my vision, and thanks to some technical gizmos, I was able to get around."
"What are their plans?"
"The same as before, that we can live well and fly into space and interact with other civilizations on a good basis. Of course, contact should be as fast as possible, but that's the way it is now. Excuse me, my flight is waiting."
He turned and left the podium. The press quickly steamed away.
Jannet looked at him angrily.
"Why should I be the deputy?"
Luke grinned.
"You cooked up this crap."
She grabbed Luke by the collar of his shirt.
"You put the damn table back, do you know how much it hurts?"
"Yes, I heard you scream."
She pointed to her broken fingernails.
"They're a mess, Luke, it took me three weeks to get an appointment."
"Humph," came from the soldier. Jannet looked at him.
"Four-Arms, I'll kick your balls in a minute, then you can work as a eunuch. I've already polished one of your snouts."
He looked at her in puzzlement.
"Yes, yes, yes," Luke let go of her hand gently.
"Jannet, look at it this way. You're the deputy, you can have the tough guy or the chick brought to you. If the rebels don't back down, you send the army after them. I don't care."
She snorted.
"Luke, what you said was a lie, we didn't build any eco-generators or filters, Ai said you connected some kind of equipment and then ate? Which one?"
Luke tilted his head to the side.
"The army's dead in a few years. All the inferior products, let them spread out in the kitchens and distribute them."
She stared at him.
"Why didn't we think of something like that..." She looked at Babsi, who held Alex's hand.
"I can tell you, Alex wanted to do that and you said it was a crappy idea. So the idea was only implemented in limited areas."
They talked for a while and then Luke left with Liz, Bill and Tereen in tow. Liz and Tereen dropped Luke off at Sarge's, who was very happy about it. Bill, who had been in withdrawal during the trip, followed the nervous Luke as they entered the palace. The Stasis Coffin floated behind them. They were led to the throne room, which was huge and bursting with splendor. Teen was sitting on her throne and smiled when she saw Luke.
On a separate, smaller throne, a shriveled woman in fine clothes was sitting.
"There, mother! Back from the quarrels of the clan."
The old woman stood up and limped over to Luke, staring at him.
"Shit, it's you, and who is this?"
Luke looked at Bill.
"This is a fashion designer from my planet. He made the clothes for the royal heads of the space vampires."
"Whatever," the old woman hobbled off.
Teheen stood up and came to her.
"I don't need a tailor and what's that?" she said.
Luke took a basket of cherries out of his pocket. She looked at them, then at Luke.
"You want something."
"Just to get one of your harem girls to nail him."
"Oh. So that's what he's like, and why should I?"
Luke took a cherry and ate it.
"Hmm. Didn't think the stasis field made them any sweeter."
She looked at him, her eyes sparkling.
Luke took another cherry and put it in her mouth.
Her eyes widened.
Bill looked at her blankly.
"They're just cherries..."
"They're very rare here. The farmers who grow them hardly give any away."
Teheen looked at Luke, who handed her the basket. Her hands were shaking.
"I still have two crates in stasis for when he really goes crazy. Do you also get a crate of raspberries?"
Her skin turned dark yellow.
"They're sacred! You can't just get them. You have to go to the temple, and even then only on holidays."
Luke took a small bowl out of his nano pocket.
"Do you know what these are worth?"
"Yes. Two dollars."
He pressed both into her hand.
Teheen bit her lip.
"Take the tailor to the rooms with the bisexual harem servants. Tell them to have their way with him!"
The servants came rushing over, dragging Bill with them, who was still looking at Luke in confusion.
Teheen looked back at Luke.
"So, what's going on between you and my mother?"
Luke grinned.
"Let's just say I met your mother when you were still in her womb because of a debt-note from her great-grandmother."
"That's problematic."
"Oh, come on, I commute. A little trading..."
She kept looking at him.
"You make it all sound so easy. That you're a Planetary Ruler plus a satellite, and then there are all the sectors you own and the investments, and then the ownership shares in my empire, capable of space travel, and I see you already have plans to exploit the resources of the planets. Something like that arouses interest."
Luke took a raspberry.
"Right, and I'm sure I've got your interest because I can supply you with more of these."
"Don't change the subject."
He pushed the raspberry into her mouth.
"They're supposed to be good for expectant mothers. So, as I said, I'll be commuting back and forth. Keep a low profile."
"Whatever that means..."
Luke grinned.
"And I brought this."
He flicked and the feminist was pulled out of the stasis. Teheen looked at her.
"Aha."
She sat down on her throne.
Luke flicked and the feminist awoke.
She looked very confused, stared at Teheen and then at Luke.
"Where the hell am I? And what the hell is this thing?" she pointed at Teheen, who was nibbling on a cherry.
A guard jammed a stun gun into her stomach, causing her to fall to her knees and writhe in pain.
Luke grinned and lit a cigarette.
"To answer your question, you are standing before the Empress of the Galactic Court."
She shot him a hate-filled look.
"Is there a reason why she hates you so much?" Teen asked.
He blew a cloud in the feminist's face and crouched down.
"You freak killed my family!" she screamed and spat.
He looked at her indifferently and took a drag on his cigarette.
"I hate you! You and your smirk! You've got everything in your hands!"
He pulled on the butt.
"Blah blah blah," Teheen said, standing up and coming closer.
"What do you want, four-armed skinny?" she shrieked.
"And I thought Lynx had come up with some good insults." She held out her hand and a guard handed her the electric baton.
"Ha?! What do you want? Me!::"
She screamed as Teheen shocked her. She did it a few times until the feminist stopped moving.
"Tsk... cremate the body," she sat back down on the throne.
Servants rushed over and dragged the body away.
"So, why the little tailor?"
Luke grinned.
"I need a new suit."
"I see..."
