ARE YOU REALLY okay, Kris?" Leon asked. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
I gave him a long stare, contemplating.
Will I tell him or not? Will he even believe me? Or will he just laugh it off, thinking I must be crazy?
I swallowed a lump in my throat. "I'm fine. Really."
Leon rose an eyebrow. "You sure?" He gave me a skeptical look.
"What? You don't believe me?" I said, both hands on my hips.
He shrugged "I don't know, Kris. You tell me."
I pursed my lips. It's like deja vu. As if we were re-enacting the same conversation we had a year ago.
And it's kind of pissing me off.
"Why do I suddenly have a feeling it's about that again?" I may have used a snappy tone at him because his forehead creased and his eyes became stern. Unbothered, I climbed down the stairs and walk past him yet he grabbed me by the arm to stop me.
