Chapter 14

IT WAS THE VERY first sign of life since all of this shit happened.

From a long distance, a black Kia Sedona rapidly approaches. The car swerved left and right, its tires squealing deafeningly. Followed by a loud crash as it collided against a lamp post. Dark smoke billowed from its blasted engines.

"What the hell was that?" Terrence burst through the front door with Elliana behind him.

The car was still a mile away from my house, yet I can clearly see how the door from the driver's seat swung open. To my surprise, a girl around my age staggered out of the car, clutching her side and limping. Her voice in high-pitched tones as she yelled.

It was at that moment where my body moved before my mind could even catch up. Without so much as considering the potential dangers, my mind seemed to fully abandoned all rational thoughts.
