Katie Poole's petulant voice came from outside the door, "Wyatt, what's with the scratches on your neck?"

"Got bitten by a mosquito and scratched it a few times without thinking."

Wyatt Perry unconsciously scratched it again, trying to cover something up.

"Really?" Katie Poole laughed. "I thought you went out on a date with some other woman last night!"

"How could that be."

Remembering Claudia Ross's stubborn look as she struggled to hold back her tears, Wyatt Perry felt a tightness in his chest, and turned his head to force a smile at Katie Poole, who was staring at him intently.

Claudia Ross didn't want to be treated like a dog anymore; she just wanted to leave the Perrys as soon as possible, to get away from this place of trouble.

She was determined to leave, not even Wyatt's mother could stop her.

"Claudia, don't you even care about your mom anymore?"
