'Phew'
Red breathed in relief after the long minutes of battle. It seemed fast, but as his eyes gazed at the time on his phone, 15 minutes had already passed.
When Red looked at the others, he noticed that all of them seemed to be still in the middle of battle. He calmly leaned on the back of the chair and watched them in secret.
Red commanded his character to use the skill "Silent Movement" to go to the side without being noticed.
With the help of the skill, he was able to run to the side, without making a sound. It saved him the effort and danger since there was a chance that he might encounter shadows once again.
Red went far, but still enough that his skill's distance would be able to reach them.
With a sly grin on his face, he watched as how others fought the shadows.
Yzzy and Furrio had an easy way, as they mostly used skills based on magic.
It was different for Blinking Lights who struggled for a little.
Blinking Light's health points were ¼ less than his original. His short-range attacks weren't going well, so he scrapped the idea of being an aggressive attacker.
Blinking Lights had to stop and observe the shadows' pattern of disappearing and appearing just to get the gist of it.
After a few seconds, Blinking lights stopped forward. As the shadow disappeared, he readied himself.
"2..."
"1...."
With a steady hand and fast aim, he was able to cast skills and land them precisely in the shadows as they appeared in front of him.
'Gotcha.'
"These dimwits!" Mark annoyingly muttered a sudden curse.
After minutes of trying to fight the shadows, Mark couldn't even land a proper attack on them. His attack either kept on landing at the side, dealing little damage, or kept on missing.
Mark repeatedly tapped his mouse, almost hitting it on the table out of frustration.
Mark's eyes were glued to the screen. He didn't even dare to blink, afraid that he'd lose if he did.
'This can't do.'
Mark pleaded to the gaming gods to lend him some strength.
How can he lose pettily in front of Red's friends, who were professional players?
He'll immediately quit the game if he dies without killing one of the two shadows. That was his backup plan.
Red couldn't help but chuckle after seeing the seriousness on Mark's face. His cheerfulness from earlier had disappeared.
Red tilted his head to the side and looked at the shadows repeatedly encircling Mark. The shadows, just by doing that, kept dealing large amounts of damage to Mark.
Mark's health points were falling below 50%.
It wasn't looking too well, as Mark was already struggling. If it continued like this, Mark's character would surely get killed.
That would be the worst case since once a player dies in the dungeon, he will be immediately teleported back to the Domain's Point.
A player wouldn't get exp or loots from the monsters in the dungeons even if his party members succeed.
What's worse was that a player would be restricted from going to other dungeons for a few hours.
Knowing that case, Red knew he had to help Mark.
Red acted fast and used his skill, "Wielder of Light," once again. He pointed it at the shadows in Mark's direction.
No one noticed Red and his skills, as it was dark and all of them were busy killing the shadows.
Mark's eyes widened as he saw a ball of light coming in his direction. He jumped up high and rolled backward, thinking that the attack was for him.
"Oh," Mark stopped as he realized that the attack wasn't for him but for the shadows instead.
Mark remained unmoving. He tried to find out where the light came from, but because the shadows immediately flew in front of him after the attack, he had no chance to look any further.
Since the ball of light slowed the shadows, Mark finally had a chance to damage them.
"Niceeee!" Mark was now able to land successful attacks compared to earlier.
After the shadows' persistent attack on him, Mark was slowly getting used to it. Mark could now attack back, cast skills, and strike his sword.
Red slowly nodded in satisfaction. The sides of his lips curved up in a smile. It seemed like Mark was just waiting for a chance to open up since earlier.
Red continued to watch them. He looked like a proud father as he watched his friends in the middle of battle.
'This feeling…' Red's excitement was slowly rising. The familiar flame rekindled in his heart. The passion for the game still hadn't left him.
However, he just wanted to play for fun right now.
"Where's Red?" Blinking Light's voice sounded. He walked to the middle after defeating the shadows.
Blinking Lights looked around. There were no traces of Red near them. The darkness made it harder for them to see each other, too.
Red looked at his place. He silently chuckled as he watched them look for him. He was at the far side, surrounded by darkness.
It would be impossible for them to see him unless they used Yzzy's fire skills. Which he doubted that they'd use as it would trigger another attack.
"Did Maser Red die?" Yzzy answered in a concerned tone. It wasn't long ago when he successfully killed the two shadows attacking him.
Furio also walked to the middle, closer to them. He cast a heal on the whole area, restoring their lost Health Points. Because of what he did, he was able to know exactly Red's location.
'Pft.'
Furio chose to remain silent, joining in the fun of fooling his two friends.
"Huh? That will be impossible!" Blinking Lights argued. He tried to walk around, but he didn't proceed any further because of the darkness.
Mark looked at the side. He saw Red's location based on his computer's screen. He chuckled when he saw that Red was just trolling them.
"I saw his screen, guys. He really did die." Mark replied in the chat.
Furio tilted his head to the side as he suppressed the laughter coming within him. He didn't mind them and looked at the screen instead.
"Huh?"
"Whatttt?!"
Blinking Lights and Yzzy said at the same time. They looked at each other in real life. Their eyes widened in great shock.
How is that even possible?
