Chapter 291 : The Plan

Inside a large hall in the Mokomo Dukedom, the atmosphere was serious. The room had become a meeting place for three major pirate leaders. Two from the Worst Generation and one from the old guard—none other than Whitebeard himself. Around the circular table sat Luffy, Law, and Whitebeard, while others stood or sat nearby, listening.

"So, this Wano... does this place got meat?" Luffy said, his cheeks still puffed from eating meat. People around just ignored him at this point. "We're gonna beat up Kaido, right?"

Law sighed. "You really make it sound so simple."

"It's not that hard," Yuta said with a grin, earning an eye roll from many who knew him better than they should. That Saitama-level feat he did on Kaido was global news by now.

Whitebeard chuckled. "Gurarara! Still the same brat. Reconsider joining the Whitebeard Pirates, kid. You'll suit right in."

"He already suits us like no other, Pops," Ace said from the side with a grin, practically taking it for granted that Yuta was a member of the Whitebeard Pirates.

"No way! Ace, don't play dirty. Yuta's already a part of the Straw Hats," Luffy chided.

"Since when?" Yuta asked, baffled.

Whitebeard leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. His face was serious now. "Back then, when Kaido attacked Oden, I couldn't do anything. I was too late. By the time I heard what happened to Wano, it was already a closed-off country drowning in fear. I was already... I had no strength left to help," Whitebeard said, dreading his own declining age.

While most of the Whitebeard members didn't know this, like Ace, a few did—like Marco and some of the old captains. Whitebeard wished to take revenge but didn't, because that would have led the entire Whitebeard Pirates into war.

He wouldn't have hesitated to act if he knew before, but he only learned about it after Oden was dead.

He paused. "But now\... my body is whole again. I owe Oden. I owe Wano."

Momonosuke, standing quietly at the side, bowed deeply. "Thank you. From the bottom of my heart."

"Gurararara... don't mind it, brat. Your pops and we go way back. Your mother was pregnant with you when I last saw her. In a way, you're a part of our Whitebeard group as well. It's my duty to look after Oden's kid."

Yuta sat nearby, not a captain, but no one questioned his seat at the table. He may not lead a crew, but his strength alone put him equal to any of the captains.

Law glanced over at Yuta. "You really healed him that much?" He asked while glancing over at Whitebeard. He didn't know how injured Whitebeard was previously, but upon learning that Yuta was the one who healed him, both Chopper and Law, doctors by profession, were intrigued. This intrigue was further boosted by other Mink Tribe members exclaiming that Yuta also healed Zunesh after Kaido's attack. In their words, it was almost 'instant heal.'

Reverse Curse Energy is superior when it comes to healing compared to most healing arts. It can almost restore lost limbs and even bring people back from the doors of death like Satoru Gojo once did.

Yuta shrugged. "Just a trick." Of course, he wasn't going to go into details.

Maki poked his shoulder. "Oh... what kind of trick brings death back to life?" She raised her eyebrow, probing for more intel out of him, definitely referring to what he did to Gojo back then.

How was he supposed to tell her that that wasn't reverse curse technique healing but rather him rewinding time itself... sigh.

"The heaven-defying kind," Yuta said with a smirk.

Luffy suddenly slammed his hands on the table. "But wait! We can't go to Wano yet! Sanji's missing!"

"Ah, right, the wedding invitation," Law said, utterly devoid of any motivation. He found himself not being able to match these people's enthusiasm lately. First of all, he was completely taken over by Whitebeard's presence, and then suddenly another Emperor got into the mix. They started planning how they were going to attack him, and he was in that list somehow by default. If that wasn't enough, then his partner in crime here—though it didn't seem like a crime since most crimes were done by the said partner—wished to go prick-fight with yet another Emperor to elope his nakama from his own wedding.

'Am I getting too old for this pirate shit?' Law couldn't help but question.

Yuta raised an eyebrow. "He's marrying Big Mom's daughter, right?" He by now had enough time to scan through most of the manga.

"More like being forced to," Nami said.

"Nah, it's Sanji... as long as it's a pretty girl, he'll be the one forcing things, not the other way around," Brook was ruthless.

"Damn pervy cook," Zoro grunted, utterly disinterested when it came to Sanji.

Whitebeard stroked his moon-shaped mustache. "So, we split. Some to Wano, some to Cake Island."

Luffy pointed. "I'll get Sanji back! No way I'm letting some fancy family take our cook!"

Pedro stepped in. "Then we'll take the Thousand Sunny to Whole Cake Island. The Mink Tribe owes the Straw Hats. We go with you."

'How do they owe him again? I was the one who saved them.' Yuta blinked, pondering whether he missed something here, but didn't bother opening his mouth. A good hero saves people not because he needs something in return.

Law stood. "Then I'll go ahead to Wano with my crew. We need to see the situation with our own eyes."

Zoro yawned and drew his sword halfway. "Kaido, huh? Been a while since I sliced something strong. Count me in."

"Oi, we are not to fight him now. Wait until others arrive," Law immediately caught that tone of Zoro and said.

"I will go as well," Robin said calmly. "Wano has a rich history. I want to read their poneglyphs."

Franky punched his palm. "And I want to see their samurai tech! Wano sounds awesome!"

Usopp, on the other hand, was trembling. "Y-you guys go ahead. I'll stay here and—wait, did you say tech? Okay, I'm in."

Everyone turned to Yuta. "So, where will you go?"

"I thought about going to Wano but I already beat Kaido. I don't care about defeated enemies..." Yuta.

"SO COOL..." Usopp, Chopper, and even Luffy had a shine in their eyes at this very narcissistic comment. But apparently, kids like narcissistic characters nowadays.

Then he glanced at Luffy. "I'll tag along with you. I wanna fight Big Mom..." Yuta grinned. While mostly he didn't go looking for trouble, he had noticed that nowadays the system doesn't give him smaller quests. Maybe because of how easy they are for him. So he couldn't help it. He had to look for trouble himself. And what could be more troublesome than to follow the future King of the Pirates himself?

Maki rolled her eyes. "In short, trouble follows Luffy."

Yuta nodded. "Exactly. And if I want to keep track of the main timeline, I need to follow trouble." He muttered so only Maki could hear it.

"Why am I trouble?!" Luffy shouted.

"Because you punch Celestial Dragons," Law replied flatly.

"He deserved it!"

In the end, the plan was clear.

Whitebeard and his crew would wait. They'd only sail to Wano when war officially began. His arrival to Wano earlier would attract too many eyes, which they didn't wish.

Law, along with his pirate crew, Zoro, Robin, Franky, and Usopp, would sneak into Wano first. They'd act as scouts, gathering info and preparing. Momonosuke and everyone originally from Wano were also included in this group.

Meanwhile, Luffy, Nami, Brook, Chopper, Pedro, Yuta, and Maki would sail to Whole Cake Island to save Sanji.

Whitebeard stood up. "Gurarara! Then it's decided! To Wano! To battle!"

Luffy cheered, pumping his fist. "To get Sanji back!"

Yuta grinned. "To kick some villains' asses."

Maki smirked. "Sounds fun." She was dying to get some action herself. Jack and Kaido weren't enough. One was too strong and in the sky for her to take action. And the other was weak and again, a boat wasn't the perfect place for a fight.

"We're all going to die." Robin opened her black mouth, seeing the enthusiasm.

Usopp screamed. "Don't jinx it!"

And just like that, the alliance was formed. Oh, Wano isn't ready for what's to come.
