Chapter 292 : Sea's Reaction

Inside Marine Headquarters, the mood was tense.

Fleet Admiral Akainu stood in the center of the command room, smoke rising from his clenched fists. The latest newspaper lay crumpled in his hand. Across the top, bold letters screamed: "Kaido Defeated by 'Dynamic Afro'!"

"That damn brat again!" Akainu roared, slamming his magma-covered fist on the table, cracking it. Not even caring about the ridiculous name.

Officers around him flinched.

Garp sat nearby, sipping his tea casually, though a small smirk tugged at the edge of his lips. "Whahahahahaha…that bastard Kaido deserved it," he laughed, making others slightly irritated seeing he wasn't reading the room again. If this was Sengoku, then being his friend, he wouldn't have said anything, but Akainu was different.

If not for Garp being the Hero of the Marines, he long would have demoted him, or even worse, kicked him out of the Marines altogether.

Sengoku, now retired but present for strategic counsel, sighed as he looked at the report. "Yuta… What a storm that boy has become. And now, Whitebeard, Straw Hat Luffy, Law, and that brat are all together in Zou?"

A younger marine stammered, "T-the report says it's a full meeting. Three major pirate groups gathered in one place."

Akainu's teeth gritted. "That's not a meeting. That's a war council," he all but roared. Anything related to one of the emperors of the sea was created as highly classified information in the Marines, let alone when talking about Whitebeard, the strongest man there was.

However, it was even worse. After the Summit War, the Marines had been very cautious of Whitebeard pirates. Why?

Because of Yuta. If one pirate group has an emperor-level powerhouse, then it's already a major headache and target for the Marines, let alone two.

The Marines obviously considered Yuta a part of the Whitebeard Pirates. The strongest man and the boy who held back three admirals alone. Almost one-shot Kaido and killed Jack.

This was an extremely threatening situation. Whenever this many powerful people gathered in one group, they were reminded of Rocks Pirates. And the Marines, for once, could let Roger get away but would never let another Rocks Pirate be born. Never.

Kizaru, casually lounging in a chair, raised an eyebrow. "Oh my, that's a lot of power in one place… We'd need all of us to even think about challenging that group." His tone was lazy, but his words weren't wrong.

The only person who wasn't here from the original three admirals was Admiral Aokiji. He defected from the Marines after losing to Akainu just like in the anime.

Akainu growled, "I don't care. I want him captured. He humiliated the Marines two years ago, and now he's done the impossible—he beat Kaido."

"Not beaten, apparently he made him fall into the sea. If not for the sea, then the outcome might not have been like this. So, don't give that brat that much credit," Sengoku pointed out.

"He did it or not, doesn't matter. How old is that brat? Not even out of his diapers, and he is beating down Kaido. What will he do when he enters his prime? We need to capture him, or better, kill him," Akainu said with a dark face.

"But you can't go in blind," Sengoku said. "Not with Whitebeard there. The old man might not have fought much in the war two years ago; however, don't underestimate him. Even old, he is strong—very strong—if what few attacks he did a few years ago were anything to go by. If we attack, we start another Summit War. And this time, we won't even have the territory advantage. We might lose this time." Sengoku murmured.

Garp chuckled. "Hahaha… Sengoku, you talk like we won the last one."

Akainu turned toward him. "Don't joke, Garp! This is the Marines' shame that we failed two years ago!"

Everyone fell silent for a moment. The air felt heavy.

Akainu barked an order. "Keep surveillance on Zou. Every ship, every report. I want real-time updates. And begin assembling an elite force. I need them to move out as soon as that brat is alone. Send Fujitora there. His failure in Dressrosa has already shamed the Marines. Tell him that this time he must bring results."

And while this was happening, the world was also reacting to what was happening over the sea.

From small towns to big pirate ships, everyone was reading the same unbelievable news in the newspaper.

Kaido wasn't defeated; anyone with enough mind and knowledge of how Morgan makes his big news could tell. He made it look like Kaido got defeated, but that wasn't the case. Never once did he say he was defeated in the newspaper.

Part of the reason was because that would be fake, and Morgan may do many things, but he does not publish false news. And secondly, this was Kaido who he was messing with.

Even so, the simple fact that Kaido was knocked down to the sea was enough to make the sea boil. Everyone was talking.

In Big Mom's territory, Totto Land, the mood was fiery. In her massive candy-covered castle, Big Mom crushed the newspaper in her fist.

"Mamamamama…."

"Send an invitation to this boy. Invite him to my tea party," Big Mom saw Yuta's image and said with a big grin on her face.

On the Red Force, the ship of the Red-Haired Pirates, Shanks sat calmly, reading the paper with a thoughtful smile. He passed the paper to Benn Beckman, who raised an eyebrow.

"Looks like the world's starting to move," Benn said.

Shanks nodded. "First Kaido's defeat, now the major pirate groups are meeting. That brat Luffy has grown up." Shanks had a proud smile on his face.

"What about that boy?" Benn looked at Yuta's bounty while taking another smoke.

"Hahaha… young people are really amazing. If we don't look out, then we would be surpassed."

"Do we step in?" Benn sighed hearing his captain and then asked with a serious look on his face.

"Not yet," said Shanks. "But we might have to if Whitebeard takes action."

Because for Shanks, maintaining balance in the sea is more important than taking revenge for Oden. While he respected Oden, he couldn't let two emperors fight to the death.

In other parts of the world, the Warlords were reacting too.

Boa Hancock read the news and sneered. She didn't care about this boy. The only man she wished to know about was Luffy. And apparently, he was there.

Mihawk didn't care at all. He passed through the news like any other and skipped it through.

"Whaaaat?! That afro-headed freak beat Kaido?!" Buggy, on the other hand, was panicking. He screamed, pulling his hair.

His men rushed around.

"Captain Buggy, what should we do?"

Meanwhile, back in Wano, something big was happening too.

A huge splash hit the coast as Kaido dragged himself out of the sea. He was mostly unhurt besides the small scratch on his face. He crawled back toward Onigashima with fury in his heart.

Only he knew he was coming back. That darn elephant sent him directly to the deepest part of the sea, making him dig deep inside.

With anger, he turned back into a dragon and flew back to Onigashima. While he was already in a dark mood, there was more to come. Kaido's hands trembled when he got the latest newspaper.

His face turned red with anger. His breath became heavy. The paper crumpled in his fists.

He let out a roar so loud it shook the cliffs. Thunder cracked. Dark clouds formed in the sky. The mountain behind him started to crack from his Haki.

"I'll crush him. All of them. Starting with him!" He roared and wished to turn back into a dragon and fly back to that darn elephant and burn everything to dust.

However, he didn't do that after reading the rest of the news. Both Whitebeard and Yuta were currently in Zou.

Kaido's shame burned as much as his fury. His pride had been hurt. But worse, his enemies were coming together.
