Brotherly Talk

On their latest adventure, they found themselves in Singapore, a bustling city in Heatherland known for its impressive airport, which could easily compete with the best in the world. But hey, those differences didn't really matter right now. Right now, they were in a busy airport in Constantine, a place they hadn't been to before.

After the plane touched down, the tired passengers had to find a spot to store their bags in the airport. Micah, with a discerning eye and a lack of enthusiasm, shared his thoughts, "Well, this is what Constantine airports are like, huh? Well, isn't that just adorable?"

Asiris suddenly started giving out a bunch of instructions. "Okay, we're gonna hang out here for about four hours."

"Sure thing."

"So, here's the deal: Take care of what you want and need. Let's meet back here in four hours. Got it?"

"Sure thing."

He leaned in towards Caville and said, "I'll get some coffee real quick."

And just like that, he and Caville walked off, leaving the rest to do their thing. Xavier's chuckles filled the space. "I feel like finding an arcade game or something fun," he said, breaking away from the group.

Quickly, Vienne trailed behind him, providing some comfort to Peter. Now it's was just him and Micah, plenty of chances to chat. "Hey, wanna check out some arcade games?" Micah suggested.

Peter immediately shot down the idea. "Nah, how about we play some car games or go for a ride instead?"

Micah just shrugged. "Very well."

"I think we're about to find some really cool stuff," Peter said.

But then, fate stepped in before they could make their dreams happen. A young girl, around nine or ten years old, hurried over to them with her long brown hair flowing elegantly. "Hey, are you Micah and Peter?" she asked innocently.

"Yeah, I guess so," Peter mumbled, feeling a slight pang of regret as he spoke.

Hey, look, everyone! "Hey, look, it's Micah and Peter!" she announced, getting everyone's attention.

All of a sudden, concern filled their thoughts. Suddenly, a crowd of people hurried towards them, like a stampede in full swing. Peter tried to run, but Micah grabbed his shirt, stopping him in his tracks.

"Well, the Constants are always there for us, that's something."

"Yeah, hopefully."

Before long, the crowd was eagerly offering pens and reaching out their arms to support the two boys, clearly showing their support. Peter was loving all the attention and feeling pretty great about his sudden rise to fame. He'd never felt like that back when he was at the orphanage. Before finding refuge in Heatherland, he suffered through the restrictions of the Ike orphanage, a place that felt like a prison, meant to prevent the two princes from ever finding peace.

Mrs. Jist, the strict principal, seemed to have a strong dislike for the two boys and the other kids she was responsible for. Micah always seemed to be the target of their teasing, something Peter could never really understand. It was just a place without any logic, something he really hated.

But things had taken a different turn. Peter was basking in the admiration, hailed like a hero for his bravery in battle. It felt really good, like I finally knew what I was meant to do.

While signing autographs and taking selfies, they were fully aware of the tasks they still had to do. So, they made their way through the excited crowd, a path opening up almost on its own. Finally, they managed to break free from the noisy crowd, determined to have a good time.

"I wonder where those magical karts could be hiding?" Micah asked, his eyes darting around as if searching for hidden treasures.

"I'm totally lost," Peter confessed, staring into the distance as if expecting the karts to magically appear in front of them.

"Looks like they've slipped away from us," Micah said with a mischievous smile. "Well, let's try to catch up with Xavier."

"Hey, why don't we try to catch up with Asiris and Caville?" Peter suggested, sounding a bit uneasy.

“Come on, that's ridiculous,” Micah said, waving his hand to dismiss Peter's idea. How about we meet up with them? What's the worst that could happen?

“Oh no,” Peter said, his mind already picturing a variety of possible disasters.

Micah suddenly looked at Peter, feeling a tension that wasn't there earlier. "What did you do?"

"Oh, just thinking about stuff," Peter said, trying to avoid being completely honest.

"Nothing?" Micah pushed for more information, noticing Peter's reluctance to answer.

"Yeah, I guess," Peter hesitated, not quite ready to share his newfound realization.

"You reckon?" Micah asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"So, what exactly do you want me to say?" Peter finally gave in.

Spill it. What have you been up to? "Micah demanded," he said firmly.

"Come on, don't start," Peter said, struggling with his emotions.

"Hey Peter," Micah said, his voice taking on a serious note, encouraging his friend to share.

"Okay, sure." Peter shared that Vienne admitted having strong feelings for him, a weight lifted from his chest. Micah, who had his doubts at first, suddenly burst into laughter.

"What's got you all worked up about this?" "Hey, what's so funny?" Micah asked with a smile.

"It would just be really weird if she ended up liking me more and..."

"You're into her," Micah said, his laughter fading away.

Peter let out a sigh, accepting the reality. "Nice work, detective."

"It's like a love triangle, but all twisted up," Micah noted.

"What are you trying to say?" Peter was curious to delve into this puzzle.

"So, she's into both of you, but you guys are also into her," Micah clarified.

"She's a real mystery," Peter pondered.

Sure thing. What's the game plan? "Hey, Peter, what's your plan now?" Micah asked, making Peter think about what to do next.

"Um, I'm not sure," Peter said, his thoughts muddled with doubt.

"You don’t know?" "Micah said, eyebrows raised. "Hey, you should be pretty good at dealing with stuff like this, being a prince and all."

"Oh, really?" "Come on, let's settle this," Peter said with a grin.

"Yep, sure is."

"So, what's your plan?"

"I'd just chat with Vienne about it first, and then get Xavier involved in the conversation."

"So, are you gonna let Xavier loose on her?" Peter asked, sounding slightly guilty.

"Nah, not at all." Later on, I'd have a chat with him face to face.

“So, he resents both of us,” Peter realized.

"Totally," Micah agreed.

"So, what's the deal?"

"Vienne and you could hang out and Xavier might get mad at you again." Anyway, he already has some negative feelings towards you.

"We've been working on fixing our rocky relationship."

"Yeah, but real friends value it when you're brave enough to tell them the harsh realities," Micah concluded.

Peter gave a little nod, totally on board. "Yeah, you're right."

“Hey, let’s learn from the pros,” Micah said, as Peter grinned in agreement. “Time to find those hard-to-find rides!”

"Yeah, for sure," Peter nodded.

Off they went on their quest to locate the karts, facing a journey filled with unknowns and deep thoughts. Peter just couldn't get rid of the ethical dilemma he had unintentionally caused, feeling torn between his princely moral compass and matters of the heart. Try as he might to push them down, his worries just wouldn't go away, like a nagging voice at the back of his head. As they kept looking for the karts, Peter couldn't help but wrestle with the consequences of his choices, torn between what he should do and what he wanted. Dealing with that challenge wasn't something he could just brush off, because the journey to genuine nobility is usually full of tricky ethical dilemmas.
