Chapter 19

Rose assured her, "Don't worry, Grandma. You know clearly about Hank's health. I doubt he'd really have feelings for her. He's probably just enjoying his time with her because she's new!"

Mrs. Bishop nodded in agreement. With his haughty and cold character, there was no way Hank would remain with Sara for long. When the time came and he finally had enough of her, he'd probably kill her.

As she thought of this, Mrs. Bishop breathed a sigh of relief. "By the way, remember to call Camilla."

Rose naturally knew what was on the old lady's mind. She nodded in assent.

Sara pushed Hank to the little yard. The servants had just finished preparing his herbal medicine. Sara could tell the prescription had been changed based on the scent of the concoction. Her eyes lit up so much that it looked like there were stars in her eyes. "Master Bishop... have you changed your medicine?"

Hank massaged his temples with his ring fingers and said tiredly, "Well, the doctor said your prescription was good."

In fact, the elderly doctor had been blown away by Sara's ingenuity. He had asked Bella about the prescription and even requested to meet this genius of a girl.

Then again, there was no way Bella would bring that old doctor to see the lovely Sara. That would cause Hank to skin Bella alive!

A smile appeared on Sara's face. She whispered, "I'm glad it's useful..."

Hank glanced over at the cakes placed on the table, "Open it."

Sara thought that Hank was hungry so she did as she was told. There were two little cupcakes. One was a chocolate souffle and the other was a strawberry cream cake.

Although small in size, these cupcakes were exquisitely made, and they were the dessert shop's bestsellers.

Sara carefully placed the fork on the table, waiting for Hank to savor the delicious cakes.

He said, "It's for you."

"What?" Sara was puzzled.

She looked at him with the most bewildered expression possible. Her round, watery eyes glimmered. Then, she remembered something about Hank's status.

Perhaps he needed someone to check if the food was poisonous. After all, he was a big shot.

She picked up the fork and took a small bite from each cake. She was perfectly fine so there must be no poison. "Master Bishop, you can eat it."

Hank closed his eyes to admire her gentle voice, "I don't like sweet food. Plus, you'd probably lose your appetite during dinner later so you should fill yourself up with this."

Sara was dazed.

Why did he buy the cakes if he didn't like sweet food?

Did Master Bishop specifically buy them for her?

Her heart started drumming in delight. She held the souffle cake in her hands, looked at him, and whispered, "... Thank you."

Only her loving mother and grandfather had ever bought cupcakes for her...

Hank said nothing.

Like a little hamster, Sara took a small bite from each of the cake. She was having a good time savoring them but her tiny stomach was filled very quickly. After finishing the souffle, she was bloated.

Hank opened his eyes and spoke softly, "How is it?"

She nibbled the fork and nodded. She smile, "It's delicious. The shop is famous for their souffle."

Back then, she had always envied her classmates who could enjoy these delicacies.

Sara wanted to offer Hank a bite but decided against it knowing that she had eaten it. Also, he didn't like sweet food.

However, Hank responded with interest, "Looks like you really enjoyed it. Can I have some too?"

Sara was baffled. "Huh?"

He pinched her tender hand and picked up a small piece of cake with the fork.
