Amidst this moment of bashfulness, Hank's icy voice demanded, "Who arranged today's banquet?"
Camilla's bashful face stiffened while the smile on Rose's face disappeared, "I did. What's wrong?"
Hank's eyes turned cold and gloomy and his handsome face was filled with hostility under the light. "Miss Dior, I knew you bought your way to get admitted to university, but I wasn't expecting you to lack basic math skills."
The crowd fell into complete silence when he uttered those words.
Rose's face turned pallid as she dug her fingernails into her palm anxiously.
Why would Hank say that? How could he expose and humiliate her in front of so many people, and especially those junior to her?!
Mrs. Bishop frowned, "Why did you say that about your sister, Hank?"
"My sister?" Hank looked at Rose cynically. "This woman?"
The old lady was flabbergasted, so she quickly changed the topic. "If there is something you're not satisfied with, just say it properly. Why do you need to be so hostile?"
The crowd looked at each other, they all had the same thought. Although the mighty Master Bishop was dying from a terminal disease, no one would ever go against him in the family, not even Mrs. Bishop.
No one in the whole of City would dare offend him.
"If only you learned your math back in school, you would not have gotten the number of guests wrong for this event!"
Everyone realized why Rose was being humiliated. Rose had initially wanted to embarrass Sara in front of the Bishop family. Rose wanted to show that Sara was just a lowly young bride bought by the family, who had no place at the dinner table when her Masters were having their meal. Now, however, Rose had not only failed to do that, she even pissed Hank off.
Mrs. Bishop was fuming too. Deep down, she didn't understand why Rose had to provoke the ill-tempered Hank. Mrs. Bishop wasted no time in trying to quell the tension. "Rose must have made a small mistake. Don't worry about it. Servants, please arrange a seat for Miss Martin."
The servants quickly sprung into action and placed a seat at the far end. Hank spoke again, "She will sit next to me." Now, it was Camilla's turn to feel very awkward.
Mrs. Bishop was sitting on Hank's left, while Camilla was sitting on his right. Now that Hank wanted to add a chair next to him, Camilla could not possibly allow it to be placed between Hank and the elderly Mrs. Bishop!
Camilla looked at Sara who had been silent and was keeping her head down. Deep down, Camilla was cursing Sara as a sl*tty vixen who seduced Hank. This sl't dared to stand there with an aggrieved look, seeming so innocent?! Camilla was enraged, but she begrudgingly stood up, "Sorry, I didn't think I should be sitting here. Miss Martin, you can have my seat."
Sara was initially remaining inconspicuous and keeping silent. All of a sudden, her name was called and she was in the spotlight. She was dazed and raised her head to look up. All the guests were now staring at her, which frightened her greatly. She quickly rushed to hide behind Hank.
Half of the looks that she received were filled with disdain. Everyone thought of Sara as being spoilt and arrogant, and she was bullying Camilla. Why did Sara insist on having that seat? To the other guests, that was very disrespectful to Camilla.
Sara frowned. Hank was the one who had asked for the seat to be given to Sara! Why was everyone blaming her? She sighed under her breath and said to Camilla, "It's okay. I'll just stand by the side. You can sit down."
Camilla forced a smile. "No no, that won't be right. After all, you are Master Bishop's wife, Miss Martin."
"Good that you know," Hank replied calmly to Camilla. Without any mercy, he said, "Get lost now."
Camilla was close to bursting into tears.
Hank had never spoken so harshly to her, never!
"Hank!" Mrs. Bishop could not bear to watch it continue, so she glared at Hank before looking back at Camilla, "Camilla, come sit with Grandma."
Feeling aggrieved, Camilla went over pitifully to Mrs. Bishop.
The servants had removed Camilla's chair and put in a new one for Sara next to Hank's. Finally satisfied, the handsome devil started speaking again, "Where's Simon?"
As soon as he said that, footsteps came from outside. "Sorry, I'm late," a cold and stiffened voice spoke.
Sara turned in curiosity and saw a man in military uniform walking in. He looked regal and poised with a confident gaze.
He looked very stern yet handsome, with facial features similar to Hank's. The only difference between the two was that the man seemed heroic and upright, while Hank emanated viciousness and hostility. Basically, they were polar opposites of one another.
The man also happened to be the current head of the Bishop family, making him Hank's younger brother, Simon Bishop.
Sara watched as Simon walked over, and hurriedly shifted her gaze. At the next second, her gaze froze.
There was a teenager walking behind Simon.
He was slender and dressed casually. His eyes looked friendly and he radiated with brightness and positivity. The teenager spoke gently and politely, "Sorry, I'm late. Grandma. Uncle. Please don't be mad."
His presence was like a refreshing cool breeze in spring, carrying a hint of alluring floral fragrance.
Rose got up immediately. "Simon, didn't I especially remind you to come earlier?"
Simon felt helpless, "Sorry. Mom, I had no choice. I've been preparing for the tournament recently."
Rose did not mean to reprimand her precious son. She looked over to Sara, "You haven't been home recently. So haven't seen Hank's new wife."
Simon smiled, "I heard. I wonder if she's..." His eyes fell on the young girl sitting next to Hank. Sebastian frowned immediately, having an ominous feeling as the young girl raised her head...
"Sara!?"
Sara pursed her lips.
She finally knew why Rose hated her so much... This had to be it, it must be.
She forced a smile, but her stiff smile looked worse than a crying face.
Hank glanced sideways at Sara, "You know Sebastian?"
"Simon, so you know Miss Martin too!" Rose feigned surprised. "Well, you can't call her Miss Martin anymore. You should respectfully address her as Aunty now!"
Rose carefully looked to see how Simon would react.
Rose schemed all of this to ensure her son would stop having feelings for Sara. She arranged the purchase of Sara as a young bride for Hank!
The smile on Simon's face disappeared. He looked at his mother in disbelief, "... What did you say, Mom?!"
Rose squeezed his hand, "I said she's your new Aunty who has just become part of our family! Hank's wife."
Sara lowered her head deeply.
She felt her chest tighten like there was an uncomfortably large boulder pressing against her, making her feel like she was suffocating.
Simon took a few steps backward. He didn't know what to say or react, "Sam... why..."
Rose was afraid that her son might say something inappropriate, "I told you already, you need to call her Aunty. Show some respect to your Uncle!"
