CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

??????

As we entered the camp, I took in the sights. Remarkably, it looked just like the spot where I had spent the last week, probably thanks to shadow. The nests were bundles of moss under bushes and a highrock for the leader in the middle. Next to it was the fresh-kill pile, where food was placed. The ground itself was actually perfect for a camp - not a rock, but also not muddy. Nice, nice, whoever built it here knew what they were doing.

Shadow boldly walked up onto the highrock.

Dude! Stop! The Highrock is for leaders like Onyx! Not a rouge, their going to claw your eyes out! What are you doing?! I was just about to hiss, when Shadow looked at me. uhmmmmmm, okay. We all know a simp can't deny the person (or cat in this case) they're simping for. Hesitantly, I stepped onto the highrock too. Don't fail me now, Shadow!

"Hello. It's been a while, hasn't it, Thunderclan?" Shadow asked. The cats were now all staring at him, some in confusion, anger, wariness, or outright hate. "I'll get to the point. I don't care about this clan anymore, since you all never cared about me. But even better, I've finally found someone who does." Shadow said and then turned to me.

????

Who, me? Bro. Get your facts straight, I'm just a loyal simp.

But it didn't feel so bad. Not bad at all. I smiled, and so did Shadow. "I won't be rejoining, now or ever. Don't ever talk to me again, Onyx." With that last ending statement, he turned to leave. I stood up too, and stuck my tongue out before leaving. Onyx stood there, stunned speechless, as cats began to swarm him with questions.

so long, suckers! I increased my pace slightly to keep up with Shadow, following him out of the wall of brambles encasing camp.
