Marriage of Convenience

Aaron only thought of marriage as involving feelings, at least physical attraction between a man and a woman. But when he looked at Margaux, despite her model-like beauty, he never felt the urge to touch her as a woman.

His parents, however, thought differently. They believed love would come later. Or maybe they didn't care at all about the future of his marriage to Margaux. For them, it was all about securing a strategic alliance, ensuring the merger of their businesses and the preservation of their family legacy.

After the Millers left, Aaron demanded an explanation from his parents. "Why didn't anyone tell me about the marriage plans with Margaux? Why didn't you ask me if I wanted to marry her?" he asked, looking back and forth between Mr. and Mrs. Chen. "You said tonight was just about business."
