1.15 Locked Doors and Echoes of Rebellion

Aries turned to his parents with a puzzled expression, "Why didn't you have someone move my things into the suite?"

Rey furrowed her brow and checked the walk-in closet. Returning, she questioned Dorian, "Did you empty the walk-in closet?"

Dorian responded with a question of his own, "Where are my belongings? I searched everywhere in the house and I can't find them."

Rey, unsure how to respond, glanced at Micah. After some thought, Micah explained, "There was an incident during construction. Since we had to empty both yours and Aries' rooms, we put your belongings in different boxes. Unfortunately, one of the staff members mistakenly threw them, thinking it was trash."

Raising an eyebrow, Dorian queried, "So you're telling me that all of Aries' belongings are safe and sound while mine are in the trash?"

Sensing Dorian's growing anger, Aries intervened, "You know no one would throw away your things on purpose. It was a mistake."

Rey quickly assured, "It was. Your uncle and I will go shop for everything new for you in a couple of days."

Dorian used his cell phone and instructed, "I sent you the list of everything I need; go to the shop now."

Staring at the extensive list, Micah remarked, "We'll just go in a couple of days."

Dorian questioned, "Do you expect me to remain naked for two days? Go to the shop today. It's the least you can do after getting rid of all my things."

Micah suggested, "We'll send someone to shop for you."

Dorian insisted, "No, Rey said that the two of you would go. I don't trust anyone else to get everything on the list."

Observing Dorian's determination, Rey, despite feeling like he was being a bit of a spoiled brat, forced a smile, "Of course, we'll go."

Dorian smiled back and inquired, "Did you have something else to tell me? If not, you can leave; I want to take a relaxing bath."

Aries looked at him, confused. "You should go to your bedroom if you want to bathe."

Dorian stated, "I'm already in my bedroom; you're the ones who are in my suite."

Aries' heartbeat quickened as he asked, "What are you talking about?"

"This is my suite. I had all your things moved to one of the guest bedrooms at the end of the hallway."

When Aries' face fell, Luna felt a surge of happiness. Her parents kept spoiling Aries so much that he believed he was better than anyone. At least now he might come down from his high horse.

Rey frowned and said, "Dorian, you should let Aries sleep here since he is the one who designed it."

"Yet I paid for it," Dorian replied with a smile, and Rey forced herself not to yell at him.

Aries voiced his concern, "Don't you think it's unfair that I have to move to another bedroom while you stay here when it was my idea?"

Dorian coughed and then simply answered, "I don't."

Micah's eyes darkened. "I understand that you're still angry at Aries, but you're being unreasonable. You'll move into one of the many bedrooms, and if you want to remodel one of the bedrooms, we'll call the crew that redesigned this suite."

Dorian chuckled and asked with a raised eyebrow, "So after you threw away all my things, took my bedroom to change it for a suite without talking to me about it, and charged it to me, you expect me to let Aries stay here?"

They all felt unsure of what to say. Aries spoke up, "Do you know how long it took me to come up with the concept and select every single piece of furniture?"

"But would you have been able to do that without my money? That's the question."

Rey said, "Money isn't the only thing that matters, Dorian. Aries poured his soul into this project. He'll stay here, and that's final."

Aries looked at his mother and smiled. Rey smiled back.

Dorian stood up and walked to Rey. "This is my house; don't forget that I let you move in here, not the other way around. You or anyone don't tell me what I can and cannot do. And you dare say that money isn't all that matters when if it wasn't for me investing money in your company and Micah's, you wouldn't be working?"

Rey felt speechless. Micah intervened, "Don't be disrespectful, Dorian."

Dorian looked at him and stated, "There are new rules in the house. I've already informed the staff, so I'll inform you. I'm the master of this house, and nothing will happen without my authorization. If you're unhappy with that, you can leave and stay at a hotel since you sold your old house. Either way, I won't tolerate anyone telling me how to run my house. If you decide to leave, make sure to shop for my things before. Now leave; I want to be alone."

After uttering this, Dorian walked to the bathroom and locked the door behind him. Micah's aura turned murderous. Upon hearing the sound of running water, he seethed, "That son of a bitch dared to talk to me that way."

Luna remarked, "You heard him cough multiple times; he'll be dead soon anyway."

Aries, with tears in his eyes, expressed, "This isn't fair; this should be my suite."

Rey, while rubbing his back, comforted, "It'll be yours in a few days. Let's go see your bedroom for now."

Luna, already content, decided to follow to compare his bedroom with the suite. When they entered, she couldn't help but chuckle. "He gave you the smallest bedroom."

Aries surveyed the room with a dark expression, glancing at the box containing all his belongings. Rey reassured, "It's fine; we'll take the other guest room; it's twice as big."

Rey attempted to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. She frowned. Luna remarked with a smile, "I'm pretty sure he locked all the other bedrooms."

Aries glared at her and then turned to his mother, expressing his frustration, "Mother, this isn't fair. That bastard took everything from me, and he wants me to live like a peasant."

Micah intervened, "When we come back from the shop, and he is happy, we'll ask him to unlock the bedroom. Don't worry." Despite his fury, Aries nodded, eagerly awaiting Dorian's demise.
