Chapter 146 Decision and More Talk.

Karna stared at the text written on the screen in front of him. This was the first time he had ever heard the system explain itself in this much detail. He had once speculated that the missions in the system were created based on the world that was destroyed, a world in which he had never existed.

Part of that speculation included the idea that the reduction in missions as time went by was because he had changed the timeline significantly, making it unable to gather enough information to put more quests into the main quest series.

"What are the other paths I can take right now?" Karna asked the system curiously.

The other paths the host can take include:

Path of the Dragon Brawler – It will be more focused on Incursio and hand-to-hand combat, including physical attack, speed, endurance, and constitution refinement, with an emphasis on combining Incursio with the host's body and being. The chances of the host having the strength to destroy continents with fists alone are very high. Path of the Necromancer – More focused on the wizard side, with the Death Demon Slayer form as its base. It will be more focused on special attacks, speed, endurance, and intelligence. The constitution does not mean the host will turn into an undead; the chances of the host becoming similar to the Shadow Monarch, but on a planetary level, are very high. Path of the Warlock – Forgoes both Incursio and the Death Demon Slayer form and chooses the path of a wizard steeped in physical battle mastery. Moves will include the limits of what can be done with runes as well as the creation of magical moves combined with physical strength. Increase in special attacks, constitution, intelligence, and endurance.]

Karna looked at the options presented in front of him. Each one of them could help him greatly, and he could see the potential of each path as well. He could see that any path taken forward would help him reach a level he had never even imagined before, according to the calculations he had made personally without the aid of the system.

Each path he had read made him see that the description only offered the least amount of power he would attain if he chose those paths. But he knew that with his creativity and intelligence, he could make them break the limits described by the system.

But even then, reading the options, he felt incomplete in all of them. Thinking for a moment, he asked the system a question that had been in the back of his mind.

"Can you show me the path of the archer that you calculated at first?"

[…..]

Seeing such an icon, Karna was puzzled for a few moments, but then the system began to give its analysis.

[The Archer, Karna – Chosen path by the creator, seeing the deep wish the host had in his unconscious mind. The archer who never lost a battle unless he wanted to. He died due to tricks. The path involves combining archery with the paths of power chosen by the host himself. The path currently has the ability to kill a single opponent as well as the potential to battle an army of millions. The final form is not decided, as the host started strengthening himself outside of the system's parameters. The trait of this path currently involves simultaneously moving through the three branches mentioned before. But because of this, the system is unable to determine the end path, other than the fact that the host is becoming stronger and stronger. The chances of the host becoming weaker in the future exist, as the system itself is unable to calculate this path.]

Karna looked at the description for a moment.

"Phh… hahaha," he suddenly began laughing, and it lasted for a few minutes.

[…..]

Even the system seemed confused by it.

But Karna was having fun with the title and the description of the path mentioned in the system.

He remembered his life before he was reincarnated. He was an orphan without even a last name. The name he was given was something his mother was able to mutter just before she died giving birth to him. After he had grown up, the orphanage director had told him all about it, along with the fact that his father had died months before he was born according to what his mother had told before she gave birth in the orphanage when asked by the orphanage director. Nothing else was said by her. The name he was given had intrigued him a lot; as he had read about its namesake when he had grown up, he was even more exhilarated that his mother had chosen this name for him before she had passed away.

The uncrowned king, the eldest among the Pandavas not known by anyone, whose kindness could not be matched by anyone during his era. He gave his armor when it was asked for by a god dressed up as a Brahmin as alms. He did not hesitate even for a second when it happened. Even while knowing that losing the armor would lead to his death, because of upholding his personal rule of giving anything asked as alms, he surrendered his greatest protection. But even without that, he was a storm that was unstoppable on the battlefield. Even Arjun, with all the blessings given to him by countless gods, was unable to kill him in a straightforward fight.

He died only because Arjun broke the laws of the battlefield to kill him. His chariot's wheel got stuck in the mud, and instead of letting his charioteer fix it, he himself got down from the chariot to do it. This was supposed to be a moment when he should not have been attacked, according to the laws of battle. But Arjun used that opportunity to kill him.

Every time Karna read that story, he felt pride in the name he was given. Thinking back, he felt that Jason had chosen this power of archery because he had wanted it himself. But now, reading the system's description, he was even more sure of it.

He summoned his bow and looked at the simple design it represented. He knew the path he needed to take, but something different from the four paths of the system — something he decided for himself.
