Chapter 1

It's been 8 years since the dungeons have opened on Earth. Many new things have been introduced. People gained mysterious powers and the world became imbalanced. A lot of phenomena started to arise.

Now our story starts,

It's been 8 years since the dungeons opened on Earth.

Tanun is a boy who is an E-ranked hunter. Hunter rankings are something like this; the lowest ranking is F, then continues upwards to an A ranking. The higher one's rank, the more powerful they are. There are only a few powerful hunters whose ranks are higher than A rank, these are S-ranking.

Tanun was the only earning person in his family. His father died when he was in 5th grade, after completing high school with lots of difficulties. He took the responsibility of the family. He started doing all kinds of odd jobs to support his family financially. He only has a mother and a younger sister. They were living their life somehow; however, during the disaster, his mother fell in front of a monster to save his mother, he confronted the monster and gave his best to defend her. Still, his mother was badly injured. In that dire situation, he gained hunter-power. He took his mother to the hospital where they recommended keeping her for further treatment. It was very costly but still, he accepted because he loves his mother very much.

He thought being a hunter would make his life much easier; alas, he was wrong. It made his life more difficult. With the new expenses, he left no choice but to do hunting work. To do so, he needs to register with any guild or association. It requires money to register and since he doesn't have money, he will have to work illegally. Which is very dangerous, but still, he needs to do so since he has to take care of his mother's hospital expenses and his sister's study costs.

Finally, he started to work for an unlicensed company which pays below average. But he is still interested in doing it for his family. They made him sign a contract, which was a honey trap. He couldn't understand that because of the contract, he needed to work for them for the rest of his life or pay a 150 million-dollar fine. So, he doesn't have any other option than working for them.

They used to send him into many dangerous dungeons that were not for such low-rank hunters like him. Battling with death became his everyday work. People started calling him "Undead". It became his nickname. Everyone started to recognize him by this name, but it wasn't because everyone liked him; it was because whichever dungeons he would enter were easy, yet he used to come outworn and torn apart. He was doing all this for his mother. His mother's disease wasn't incurable. His mother could be cured by a simple elixir, which is very rare.

As time passes, he sinks into debt and his life becomes miserable. He has lost all interest and hope. He blames himself for his mother's situation. He thinks if he had awakened a little earlier and been stronger, his mother wouldn't have faced this problem.

One day, he had a call from a mysterious person. That man offered him a huge sum of money and asked him to enter a dungeon on his behalf. He thought for a while, then confirmed the offer. He didn't know this offer would change his life forever. But was this mysterious person good or bad?
