Injuries

Kai stuffed his mouth with a cloth while clenching his teeth, and then in his mind imagined how the energy was being absorbed by Emily.

He thought about exactly the way energy was moving inside her, the places and organs it went through, the veins it touched, the parts of her body that it absolutely avoided, he thought about it all, visualising it inside his head.

Kai has given Emily's energy absorption technique the name of the 'Martial body', although he still couldn't copy the same technique since his body just can't do it, but he decided to create a miniature version of it inside his body, the amount of energy he would be absorbing then would increase exponentially.

Kai opened his eyes and activated the Soul Eyes, his sight was instantly filled by the vision of countless energy particles freely drifting into the air, he watched as they came in contact with his body and simply moved away without showing any reaction.

Taking in a deep breath, Kai focussed on his skin and allowed the energy particles that were touching his skin to pass through the small pores, doing this part have become a lot easier for him by now, after so many months of practice.

Instantly hundreds of particles rushed into his body from all over, and just as he had expected them to behave, they began to crazily move around, mercilessly hitting his bones, flesh and organs, trying to get out of his body.

Suppressing a painful groan, Kai immediately began to work he closed his eyes and visualised the way energy moved inside Emily's body, he tried to direct these particles in the exact way, but unlike Emily, he didn't have any predefined passages whose sole role was to let that energy travel across the entire body, so he decided to move them through his flesh and blood vessels.

The more force he used inside his body to instruct them in a particular direction the more these particles tried to resist, making it even more painful for him, and making it impossible to control any of the particles. Kai was using mental pressure as well as a strange suction force inside his body to try to move the particles

His brows were knitted tightly, and sweat poured from all over his body, yet Kai was not ready to give up just yet, from time to time, muffled groans came out of his mouth, in his previous life this much pain would have been nothing but this three year old body was too weak despite absorbing the energy particles for three whole years.

While so many particles were moving aimlessly striking whatever came in front of them, Kai's body slowly began to absorb energy from them, but the speed was very slow since they weren't moving the way he wanted them to.

As if the energy particles had a consciousness of their own, just when a little of their parts were absorbed, their struggles became even more furious and they now began to strike his body madly.

Kai tried with all his might to restrain them, but it seemed that he was still not capable of subduing them, so he forcefully pushed all of the particles out of his body before they could destroy his body from inside.

" COUGH COUGH Ughhh shit " he cursed after removing the cloth away from his mouth, it had taken his everything to push all those particles away, but still blood came out of his mouth and he felt that there were some injuries inside his body but he felt relieved that none of them were critical.

So after suffering some mild injuries, Kai's first attempt at achieving the 'Pseudo Martial body' ended in a failure.

' I won't be able to try it again for a couple of weeks at least, I can't understand why these energy particles are acting so aggressively, almost like they have their own mind. In my previous world, there was nothing like this, the energy there was docile and never fought back like this, haa I can't understand how to go about it. '

Kai thought sighing in frustration, he sat there and soon his breathing began to relax and the pain in his body lessened a little, then wiping off the blood from the corner of his mouth he stood up and silently went towards the bed, while wiping off all the sweat.

Kai was relieved and sad to see that Emily was still asleep, if not for her weakened body she would have easily noticed his movements, but even her mind had become weaker and a large part of the energy she absorbed daily was working to stop the black gas like substance from spreading all over her body.

To stop Emily from sensing the energy particles roaming inside his body, Kai never trained near her, at least not when she is awake.

He was still feeling some pain inside his body, so without thinking much, he moved to the bed and soon fell asleep.

For the next two weeks, Kai's life went on peacefully he didn't try to get the 'Pseudo Martial Body' again, and he even decreased the speed at which he normally absorbed energy particles to let his body recover from the injuries.

Then on the fifteenth day when most of his injuries had already healed, Kai again sneaked outside of the house at night and sat down.

All the houses present there were aligned in a single line, and in the darkness of the night no one came outside except for the few guards that would patrol around the houses and the wall that separates them from the forest, but since they were present behind the houses, Kai didn't have to worry about getting seen by them.
