How a boy became a man

I see the school bus making its way to my house but I feel reluctant to get on. I hesitate until I see my mom with her brave smile that made me feel everything is going to be okay. I get on and I feel the stares right away but I couldn't be bothered. I rush to an empty seat and close my eyes wondering what day 2 held in store for me.

Out of the bus, walking the same corridor yet again, I can see the stares but among those stares were those 4 of them that took me down yesterday, smirking away. I felt disgusted and wanted to fight back. Before I could make the decision, he came in and took me away, the boy that I saved.

He took his hands off me and apologised. He introduced himself as Kai and told me to let it go, it wouldn't be worth it. Seeing him calm and composed gave me the chills. How was he so calm? After what happened? Is he used to it? Was he sane? The school bell rang taking my mind off all this and we rushed to class...
